ToTT Blog (1)
We don't hide behind propaganda or spin a story into something it's not, however, we're big enough to know that some fans just don't care about the politics and do still have dreams or aspirations about their club.
This new blog is their angle on the club and their first steps into the writing world so treat them with care!!
First up is Nicholas Heymann and his look at some potential targets.
5 Newcastle Transfer Targets
It has been said that this transfer window Newcastle won't be buying many players. That's what happened last year and look where its got us. Here are 5 Newcastle targets:
1. Andy Carroll
Newcastle and West Ham seem to be the clubs in the battle for Andy Carroll for a rumoured price of around £10 million.
The 24 year old big central striker was sold to Liverpool for £35 million from Newcastle two and a half years ago and was on loan at West Ham last season after a disappointing one and a half years at Liverpool.
Andy Carroll would be a great player to play up front for Newcastle with Papiss Cisse. In his 80 games played for Newcastle, he scored 31 goals and helped Newcastle to promotion to the top flight in 2009 after being relegated in 2008.
2. Wilfried Bony
Currently, Wilfried Bony plays for Vitesse in the Eredivise. He is 24 years old and Liverpool, West Ham and possibly Arsenal are in the hunt for his signature.
It is expected that he will cost in the region of £12 million. In ten consecutive games last season he scored an incredible 15 goals. Now you can see why people want him to play for their team.
3. Victor Wanyama
Various teams are said to be in the hunt for the Kenyan defender who is said to be worth about £10 million.
He plays either defensive midfielder or centre back and Celtic bought him for just half a million pounds. If Coloccini leaves Newcastle this summer, it is important that we get someone as good as Wanyama. He is known for his strength and his pinpoint tackling, so would be a good replacement for Coloccini if he leaves.
4. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Arsenal and Newcastle seem to be leading the way to signing Aubameyang, who has said that his club, Saint-Etienne would probably let him go for £10 million.
The Gabonese striker was voted the best African player in Ligue 1 for last season, scoring 21 goals in 41 games - Newcastle could do with a striker that good (no offence Cisse but your finishing isn't the best).
5. Will Hughes
The 18 year old Derby County midfielder is rumoured to be sought after by at least 10 premier league clubs, but it seems that Newcastle are leading the way, and might sign him for £10 million, before loaning him back to Derby County for next season, so he continues to get first team matches.
It would be an excellent long term signing for Newcastle as the U21 England player could be worth twice that in a few seasons.
