Should be coaxial cable. On this side of the pond radio shack has all that stuff. Just take the cable there and get another one.

The collar crimping tool probobly cost more than a new cable.

Ok. So you dont have a wall tie in. A receptacle type set up. You just have a wire coming from the floor.

If thats the case, then like mountie says you have to put a new fitting on the end of the wire. Strip the the insulator away, slide the new fitting over it and crimp it to the cable.

If its your aerial feed then dont worry as they're cutting the signal soon, so will be probably obselete anyway.

Just buy an indoor digital aerial thingy. can get half decent ones for £25

Basically my old tv broke so I had to get rid if it.However when a went to lift it the cable that runs from the outside of the house and through a hole in my wall completley snapped off which means I've know got a cable running from the wall to my tv but instead of the bit at the very end that goes into the tv it's basically just a wire that a can't do anything with.Does that make sense?

Jesus fucking christ Ben, are you winding me up? :26:

Get yourself to Maplins or an electrical hardware store and tell them the problem and they'll sort you out one of these...

You can then slot the wire into the connector, tighten it all up and plug the fucker into your telly.

Like TNMW says, alternatively get an internal digital aerial, cos those will be switched off soon.
