I think given those other options he's the better one. It still stinks to high heaven though.
The only way it will work is if Ashley starts putting his hand in his pocket

My mate actually reckons he was decent. Said he played good football and got stitched up by their Director of Football. Made to sell Berbatov and play players he hadn't bought.

Another one said -

"Good football and a top bloke. But is that enough?"

Another one said -

"Will he get funds?"

Jol if i remember rightly played for WBA and was shit. Managed Spurs and spent lads of money on shite and the locals were delighted when he was sacked so bring it on Martin Jols black and white army............

Ashley must know all the abuse heading his way, so you would think he's got some sort of plan in mind, with a transfer kitty pretty high up on the priorities list.
It doesn't make sense any other way

you couldnt have kept hughton

like i said earlier, it's his team

moving him sideways wouldve been humiliating at best, and horrendous for team morale at worst - who would the players call gaffer?

Valid point.
Gonna be tough for anyone who comes in.
Oh - and as I expected some rag writer wankers are having a go at Newcastle team and fans and trying to make it look like digs at Ashley as I expected. And the inevitable sneering at us thinking we're a "big club" - attendances and interest-wise, how are we not ? Trophies of course, we aren't.
But the usual suspects will be wallowing in this like the pigs in shit they are - Mick Dennis, Phil McNulty and umpteen from so-called "intelligent papers"

Comolli stitched him at Spurs by buying the players himself and then fucked Jol off and brought Ramos in. My pal reckons everyone knew before Jol, which is nice. So he's used to working for cunts.

this is a dead cert, it's too much of a coincidence from what that lad told me.
"Hughton out, Jol in before Xmas"

You did say that
I was told something similar before the season started.

I think he got spurs into the uefa cup for a couple seasons. I think one year he was in charge when spurs had to beat arsenal to get into fourth, but the whole team got sick before the game.something like that anyway. I know Robbie Keane had some good years under Jol, might be some incentive for Keane to come in Jan.

Pardew frontrunner again.

I'm very sceptical about everything that has happened and is about to happen with our club.

But if we get Alan Pardew in and totally contradict everything that the club have insisted is the reasoning behind Hughton, I may yet not go back up those Level 7 steps while the fat cunt is in charge.

Odds keep shortening on the four frontrunners (Jol, Pardew, Curbishley, O'neill) nothing coming through on newsnow though about any talks with anyone so must just be people going with their gut for now.

Pardew fits all his criteria.

He's desperate for a job. -Will work for any amount, anywhere.
He's cockney.
He'll do what he's told.
Has experience of the lower leagues -thats where we'll be heading
He's good with dodgy south american dealings - Tevez & Mascherano anyone

whoever it ends up being, they're going to walk into the dressing room as the odd man out.
Forget the transfer kitty he may or no get or the directive he's working under. The hardest part will be to motivate the players at his instant disposal. Some of which will feel as if they owe their careers to Hughton.
They'll be regarding Ashley as their enemy once again, and anybody walking in his obvious cohort

It's heading for utter implosion.

All these suggestions that the players were picking the team & hughton was too pally with them.
Have managers not bounced ideas off players & vice versa for decades?
I'll be very suprised if theres not more than a few of them who are telling their agents to sort them out moves for january.

This whole shambles is really beyond my comprehension. I can only possibly imagine that there has been a front when the cameras are on the players because unless Hughton has lost (or never had) the dressing room, then it doesn’t stack up. And if he never had it, it’s a miracle we are where we are.

They seem to want an experienced, higher profile manager and yet aren’t prepared to back them with real money. Those experienced, higher profile managers aren’t going to go with that. They'll tell him to fuck right off. Unless of course, they lie again. But who is stupid enough or desperate enough to ignore how they have treated other managers? Those aren’t words I really want to associate with a new gaffer. Is Pardew either or both of those?

If Ashley is prepared to back a new manager and Hughton never had any issues with the players or the board, why not back him?? The whole thing is unfathomable and the treatment of Hughton stinks.

Saturday – Anarchy in the stands, revolt in the changing room, Scousers on form and visiting a favourite haunt. Wheels are sure to come off live on international TV. Welcome to the latest implosion of Newcastle United.

In some ways us getting a win (unlikely i know) while a great result, could potentially be a bad thing purely because ashley will foolishley believe it's vindication of his decision, when in actuality it will be the players fighting back in hughton's name saying we were doing just fine and were out of form that's all

At least if it is Jol, he is capable of making decisions himself. If it's Pardew, then it's obviously going to be Ashley's puppet and we can prepare for the Championship again. He may not have been 1st choice with Spurs fans, but Jol had them playing decent football, were 4th in the league and if i remember correctly was dismissed under similar circumstances.
