Apparently Ashley's £30m bid for Brixton Market fell through. Apparently the current owners thought he wasn't serious enough about the bid. Shades of what he said about Staveley - a time waster. probably what clubs like Feyenoord think of him now.

His return for that £30m wold have been around £1.3m a year.

If he has £30m cash floating around, he could do well to invest it in some quality players. The difference in income between Premier League and Championship football is over £100m with a further loss, if not promoted, from the parachute payments diminishing from £40m to £0 over 3 years on top of commercial revenues.

£30m now for £150m+ per year return sounds a much better deal, to some of us anyway.
