Difficult question for Ashley right now. I think he could spend £100m on players and still get relegated, or nowt and still stay up. So what is the right amount to spend?

I think he will go for the latter option.

That might piss Rafa off but I guess he is thinking "so fuck" right now. Get someone cheap in and hope for a dead cat bounce. Tidy up at the end of the season and plan the next campaign of cost cutting.

Why would any of us expect the fat bastard to run this business any different to all his others. Especially when he sells out every week?

He’ll gamble the way he always does by spending fuck all and trousering any budget their should’ve been. He’ll come out and tell the world how skint he is and that he’s never taken a penny out of the club... the happy clappers will lap it up and ask where to sign for the next 10 years. Other will grumble for a combined total of 30secs and then head off to buy a pie and pint with their SDU jackets on over the top of their SDU strips.

if 10 years has taught us anything then it is 100% certain that he'll not spend enough and hope for the maximum financial return.

There's no risk attached because he's recouped his initial outlay by a minimum of 10 times over. Doesn't matter how Sky or any of the other media gobshites spin it.

How can investing in his product be seen as a bad investment ? The club is worth more to Ashley in the Premier League than out of it . We all know what will happen though. "Does anyone have Shefki Kuqi's number ?"

I agree that there is no risk for Ashley by sticking cash in. Yes, loan players are dead money but they help achieve the objective. Buying players in the current market shouldn't be a risk because TV money is likely to push player prices higher.

In any event the end of season cash inflow will represent pretty much pure profit.

Sky can fuck off.Ashley has them in his pocket.Us nasty geordies calling Ashley are well out of order.10 yrs of shite.Taking money out of the club, not trying in cups and not spending a penny on transfers.Thats fine.
On the other hand though.Love him or hate him, take the situation with Arsene Wenger.
They let anyone who is anyone call for his head. After all he has done at Arsenal.
He has won 3 FA cups and 3 Charity Shields in the last 10yrs that we have had Ashley.Yet its okay for them to want him sacked. We have to take the shite we have had to endure under Ashley and be grateful.

They love to build up and knock down managers mate, they are seen as disposable assets. Owners are a bit too powerful for SKY to upset I fear. They control a big part of the gravy train.
