Sad stat

Bearing in mind that promotion got us into the riches of Premier League broadcasting cash, I see that the net spend from Ashley during the summer window was actually less than 4 Championship clubs (Birmingham, Boro, Reading and Wolves). Also remember tat the club had a £30m or so transfer surplus last summer.

Realising that stat, it seems that with our poor crowds, pathetic commercial revenues and mere Premier League status, how poor Ashley's policy would have made us in the Championship, let alone in the division we are in.

Another sad stat. 12 months ago yesterday we played Forest at home with this starting XI.

Darlow
Yedlin, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett
Ritchie, Hayden, Colback, Atsu
Perez
Gayle

Amazingly, we almost replicated that against Brighton.

Howay, Toony, Merino is an improvement on Colback and the Hos cost £3m more than Ayoze. albeit in a less inflated market. Brighton only invested 15 times that in the summer.

There'll be someone somewhere thinking Colback could be like a new signing. A free one. #Ashley

Damn these Chinese owners who haven't read the script yet and I'm afraid Steve Gibson is a one off, a local lad who dreams of better days.
