I'm hearing whispers that Jonjo might be heading back down South which generates a few questions.

Would we miss him or would his occasional lack of discipline give us more continuity if we could find an adequate replacement?

Personally, I like his style and reckon he has the potential to be one of our best midfielders since Gazza. I can also see him being an asset for a few clubs, West Ham, Spurs and he would have a field day at Palace with Zaha, Townsend and Benteke to aim at.

Alternatively, does he really have the discipline to stay in Rafa side?

I hope they get rid, I think he's shite. He doesn't close down, let's the opposition run by him, can only play long diaganol passes. If you want a sulking, gurning idiot then he's great.

As always, as long as we get an adequate replacement I wouldn't be too bothered.

I agree with much of this - he verly much flatters to deceive and think he's a luxury we can't afford in the team. If he has bags of space and time on the ball then great but I've been considering him for a while and i think my previous view was being misled by the odd fabulous defence splitting ball delivered on a sixpence. Sadly these are few and seldom with plenty of shit and petulance in the between - seems a bit of a div. Not a starter for me.

I'd get rid of Shelvey . For what we are and where we are he's all wrong for us. A confident Shelvey on his game with a side in lots of possession and movement in front of him is superb . At the minute as others have said he's a luxury. He's ill disciplined both in his football and his temperament. His fitness is poor, mobility wise on the pitch he's too slow and is lazy as he lets players run off him.

Me I think he is an indulgence we can't afford. He would look good in a good team, but they have all already got better players in his position. Not mobile enough for me and I wouldn't even begin to compare him with Gazza. We have had at least 10 far better midfielders since Gazza was in his pomp.

Personally I feel he's overrated, believed his own hype of being the best player in the championship last year. Reminds me of the kid who would take his ball home if things weren't going HIS way. The team could be 5-0 up and playing scintillating football but if he's not involved he would be a sour faced cunt. Too inconsistent and not as good as he thinks he his. There's a reason why Liverpool and the might Man C....... Errrr Swansea got rid!

The transfer window hasn’t even opened yet and we are already linked with have a dozen players. It’s the same every window. I can’t see the Dildo Brothers spending anything TBH, a few last minute cheap loan deals is the norm here.

I think he is lazy, sloppy, moody and sprays a few decent passes. Does not score many and does not track back. A liability who does not play consistently at the level he is capable of in a poor team admittedly. Get rid.

I must admit, CM, I did wonder. There is a nice story in 2 lads returning home. Having said that, I ruled it our on the basis of the wage cap here and not being able to afford Carroll - unless a takeover deal has been agreed.

Edit: Fuck it, I’m not getting into a libel situation about Carrol and his antics being the reason he’s been told never to return to Newcastle.

Oh and he has a persistent injury which has broken down several moves since West Ham.

Can't imagine that RB would even for a moment consider Andy C.
Shelvey ??? Half (just) decent bit can't/won't perform under pressure. Had no right calling himself a professional footballer.

Boycotting at the moment so I don't know. How did Shelvey really behave today?

I know he appeared to be listless when wanting a move away from Swansea.I appreciate that he has the occasional rashness of a Joey Barton. It does seem that his team for boyhood support might well be interested in signing him.

Did he show the sort of disrespect that some sources seem to claim?
