I'm of the same opinion as 'Tom' and his comments about Sturridge. Always thought he was too greedy and his conversion rate not enough to warrant his value

If he did mention fatty or penfold it wouldnt be a good start for him with the fans.Would be like admitting West Brom wasnt his 1st choice. He chose them because this clubs a joke and players, managers etc within the game know it.Good luck to the lad.Who would want to be part of this circus.

Benitez never rated him... Even at Chelsea

Benitez told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle: "We will see. You never know in the market.

"I don't know what [the press] said, because I didn't read the press," the Chelsea manager added.

The Spaniard says it has been difficult to get a gauge on the 23-year-old’s due to his injury problems this season.

He added: "He was training with us yesterday. But that was just one training session. So now we have to wait, because he was injured.

"To be fair, I only saw him three times last week, so he couldn't train too much in this time with him."

Yes PieMag, they are briefed to saying the right things.

He's not going to turn around and say "Rafa might not even be there when I make my debut and despite the prospect of being Pardewed, it couldn't be any worse than making my debut under Joe Kinnear".

To be fair Sturridge didn't directly blame rafa either .

I didn't realise a loan fee and wages had actually being agreed either, unless Ryder is telling porkies.

This has happened before with Remy.Rafa was nowhere near that deal.Penfold and fatty were. They have form. When we get nobody in it wont be down to Rafa.He said he gave the names and left the rest to Penfold. He wouldnt say that in public numerous times if it wasnt true.
Our relegation has just been confirmed as far as I am concerned.Just wish Rafa would stand up to them with actions rather than words.

It will be Rafa's greatest achievement if he outstays Ashley because this is a political battle that has just had the stakes raised.

If nobody on Rafa's shopping list is signed, Rafa can be straight on the phone on Thursday morning to the LMA over extricating himself from his contract at the end of the season.

In the meantime, if we do go down, don't be surprised to see Ashley begging Staveley to take NUFC off his hands for £100m and being negotiated down if Leeds fail to win the play offs.

If any of what Ryder wrote is true then it's even more gut wrenching.

Personally I can't stand Sturridge, wtf is that celebration about ,he comes across as a right joyless twat.

That said, having a current England striker facing Burnley on Wednesday instead of him whose name I can't be bothered to mention, is hard to bear.

Aye marky,

I still have a glimmer of hope that Ashley is enjoying rubbing our faces in it before he takes the loot and fucks off.

He's definitely taking the piss whether he stays or goes, this is clearly not just about money.

The same old shite has been happening every transfer window for about 10 years now. I no longer get frustrated by it because I don't expect any different now.

We'll go through it again this summer.

It will be an absolute mystery to me if RB is still here after Wednesday.
I won't be sure if it's because he's not the bloke i thought he was or he knows 'something'.
How you can work for that bunch of deceitful charlatans and retain any professional dignity is beyond me.

Given our apparent understanding of Benitez' contract, namely, he pays back £6M if he leaves with more than a year left on it, I'd be shocked if he did leave. What? You want him giving money back to that stinking piece of excrement? No thanks. Knuckle down, relegate the club. Devalue it until it hurts to own it.

And don't go. Never again, until it is cleansed of the parasite. If you have ever supported the club, you must know that this is entirely deliberate and that he loathes and despises you. STOP GIVING HIM YOUR MONEY.

I can understand Rafa staying until the Summer but after that and with the ability to get another constructive dismissal on Ashley's CV, he'll be gone.

What would throw the cat among the pigeons is a live resignation stating the reasons being dirty tricks.

As owl pointed out he should have walked on 20th after his transfer deadline was not met.

The only difference I see between Pardew and Benitez is one of them is a bigger tit courtesy of his larger cup size.

The big difference is honesty.

Pardew helped make excuses whilst Rafa is clearly opening the eyes of the blind.

Pardew ("This one's for Mike") and Benitez aren't even the same species. Only an idiot walks out of his job and pays his boss back his salary for the last year.

Benitez is a political animal. Perhaps he can smell the blood. Perhaps, as is suggested, he knows more than he's saying.

If the contract thing is true then Benitez will obviously not walk yet, but if he’s still here in 6 months /a year then he can either see Ashley leaving or maybe he actually likes and respects the club, the history and the city and doesn’t particularly want to manage another English club, if Klopp were to leave then maybe things would change. Personally as long as we’re stuck with Ashley then I’d rather have a manager I respect than the alternative journeyman who’s achieved nothing. Plus it gets right up fattys nose if the manager’s popular.

Anyone who was blind to what Ashley has been doing before Rafa turned up needs mental health treatment.

Benitez making sly comments in the media is not coming across as honest.

Especially when it's plain for all to see that Ashley is getting away with MUCH more than he ever could under Pardew.

As the wise owl said,he should have walked once HIS transfer deadline was not met.

Leicester's Kelechi Ihanacho has supposedly handed in a transfer request . There are still viable options out there depending on the ability and desire to make it happen.

It would make good "car crash tv" for sure but how much difference did it make when KK basically did the same thing? Fuck all as far as I recall. Ashley will just carry on executing his plans. Another casualty in the wings, so what

Until the ground stands empty on Saturday afternoon nothing will change, maybe even not then.

As for Rafa walking, why would he do that? Its a free gig for a load of money. If we get relegated it wasn't his fault, if we stay up he is a genius. Paid a kings ransom for a no pressure easy job.

I can see the final indignation, or perhaps insult, unfolding in front of us now. No permanent signings and Merino and Mitro leaving on deadline day for another £20m or so clear profit in the fat mans sky rocket. Guess what, the ground will still be full of happy clappers all the way through to the end of the season, albeit with the odd nasty song about horrible fat cockneys. Can you imagine how fucking stupid Ashley must think we are?

Marca are reporting that Newcastle are in talks to sell Merino.

The only positive that could be taken is the view that Ashley's cashing in as many chips as possible prior to a sale.

More likely that he's just being his usual cuntish self .

Hopefully, the players leaving will be the likes of Saivet, Diame, Haidara, Colback and so on.

Just on the flight watch thing, if we are signing from South America, they would either have to already at the airport their end to be in time for the Burnley match or ready to leave first thing in the morning if they are to get here for the deadline. For the other side of Europe, we are looking at flights lunchtime tomorrow. For a signing from Blyth Spartans or Gateshead, a taxi at 6pm tomorrow should do it.

Having said that, Ashley could still get his chopper out for anyone in the UK.

If nothing is sorted before the Burnley match, there could be a riot, the scale of which has not been seen since Cabaye was sold, or should that be of which there wasn't when Cabaye was sold?

As for sales, it will be interesting to see tomorrow's line up at 6.45 pm tomorrow.
