I'm sure Rafa is far from happy with 'joblot' up front on his own.

There's more than one way to skin a cat and Rafa knows what he's doing.

No offence intended, but from a historical as well as personal point of view, fellow Geordies are falling YET AGAIN for the same age old tactics used against us since the times of king George,Thatcher and now Ashley over a period of 270 odd years.

Rafa is currently and sadly successfully filling the modern day role of the traitorous and ironically named "conciliatory union", ACAS.

How's the line looking lads? Great stuff from Ashley and Charnley this window, one loan signing is fantastic work and there's no way we're going down now.

If it wasn't so tragic it'd be funny. Every time. The study of Ashley's business dealings, especially those involving this club, is not Economics but Geology. It all moves so slowly. I can only imagine that the whole Shite Direct success thing was a timely fluke, more to do with the rapid expansion of the internet than any business acumen this lardarse possesses. And then, add in the communication talents of Penfold, the tea boy. What a recipe for success that is.

On a different point: why on earth would Chris Hughton have ANY dealings with Ashley? He knows the bastard's form.

The same go in with a bid that's miles below the players valuation knowing it's going to be refused. More time passes and the familiar `we couldn't get them over the line' quote is dusted off once again.

Pondering, considering a move, may go in with a bid and numerous other comments. All bullshit, how long does it take to make a transfer happen. Not very long if you put in a reasonable bid but if you try going in on the cheap it will never happen.

We all know the script. Charnley working on Ashley's orders is part of the slowing down process in pretending to bid and doing the lo-balling but day after day we think things may change, they dont.

It's an absolute joke that for so many years this has gone on but still we hold on in hope of some crumbs, no matter how much we know it wont happen.

This time next week The Ronny Gill have about 15 - 20 transfer window closing day after pieces to use as it's going to happen again. Still no tracking down of the fatman to call him out though.

Down to 6 days on Ashleys friends at Sky countdown.6 days is nowhere near enough for us to make a signing even if we intended to.Be plenty of bullshit from them in between though. Can just see Craigy now.At the training ground on deadline day saying we are after 3 or 4.Then early evening coming out with that now famous line."Been told business is done at Newcastle".Am looking forward to Rafa on Feb 1st to see what he does or says after the inevitable.

Anyone think the Staveley bid can be resurrected ? Is that what Ashley is hoping for? Keep Premiership status, don't spend, get the asking price for NUFC. Is it still a case of 'who blinks first'? Drop a division and it's a whole new ball game. Penfold, your job's on the line also. Not much time to sort out what's been asked for.

Six days is plenty of time don't be fooled on that score. Deals can be done in a few short hrs. Any window just before a big international tournament always has deals done last minute and often very quickly. Where Newcastle United fail is the desire to make a transfer happen, actually wanting to pay what the selling club asks, onstantly making lowball offers or making deals only with certain agents (Ungeklart in the days of Carr or the four players who are currently represented by Unique sports management). We've a young squad crying out for experience and when we've actually been signing players it's still players who are under 27 and with a very good chance of being resold for a profit.

This type of post epitomises why Ashley is still here and further emphasises why he's been so successful at doing whatever he wants while in charge of our club

The real problem at this specific moment is not Charnley,it's Benitez.

If Mike's 4 million pound get out of jail manager resigned NOW,wtf would he do ?

It's a rhetorical question because no doubt the usual shite excuses would surface, ignoring the extremely difficult position the owner would be placed in.

Yes indeed we all know the script because the last decade shows it's been written specifically to control our gullible support.

Our young uns have no chance, they are being bought up on hysterical drivel, and to rub salt in the wounds it's driven by whoever Ashley decided is going to be the latest pantomime villain.

Don’t be divisive. Or I think that’s what people get called on here for telling it how it is.

Every single person in that ground on the next home game is a spineless twat. They just don’t like hearing it.

Absolutely spot on that, Ashley simply doesn't want to invest and pay the going rate, if he can't get a deal then he's not interested as the game itself doesn't interest him, 11 years and he's still crying that it's not a business like other businesses, fucking hell mate, then sell up.

Nothing wrong with expressing different views.
We all knows who benefits from the divide & rule tactic,it's been used for centuries.
Tubbies rubbing his hands. It's going to require a united effort to oust him.

As for the "spineless twat" remark,al mention it to the grandbairn the next match we go to.
Thought fatherhood might have mellowed you a bit o.m.
Back to the thread & it looks like his sordid transfer shenanigans are going nicely.

So the latest is that nothing will happen until the new tv deal is done.

So Mike's prepared to risk losing out on the new tv money by getting relegated through not investing. I suppose he likes a gamble

Lose today and/or pick up an injury to a forward and the Clowns might bring someone in, because if they don't and we lose to Burnley it will be too late and we will be relegated.
As I have said all along while Charnley is handling transfers under Ashley's guidance we are stuffed.
Any signings should have been in weeks ago but Charnley can only operate at a dithering snails pace.

Charnley doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, but there’s a reason he moves at a snails pace and that’s because every deal we’re supposedly linked with we try and get cut price. We offer under the going rate and we increase our bids in small amounts and simply refuse to pay the market value and get them done. Let’s not kid ourselves that Charnley has any say in this whatsoever.

Charnley has identified a new striker target playing in the 2nd tier of Cameroonian football. Ashley feels that this will make a statement to supporters.

If personal terms can be agreed, the striker carrying Ashley's message to the Geordie public is F'Queue.

Probably most telling is Rafa himself and he seems to want to be here in a political game against Ashley.

I have to just worry about Burnley and that’s it. I think the fans are very clever and they know what is going on. What I have to do is keep going. I am a professional and want to do well.

I am happy with the city, the fans and can see the potential of the club. I have to be sure that everybody understands the message, we have the same idea and we are on the same page.

It's frightening to see how little Rafa was backed during the summer and what other clubs have.

In effect, Murphy was the only one over £10m and fair play, he has shown potential. Otherwise, Manquillo, a mackem reserve, Atsu who was on loan and cheap, Joselu, a Stoke City reserve. and Lejeune who looked good until Kane clattered him.

The Championship signings were more than financed by outgoing players. Of those, the 7 figure signings, Ritchie and Gayle were at a good Championship level but unable to command a regular place at Bournemouth or Palace. It is amazing to see what difference in quality those clubs acquired.

Can you imagine how much better we would be with a front 3 of Townsend, Benteke and Zaha? We could have had Rodriguez at West Brom, the list goes on.

It's soon to be decision day for Rafa, the one genuinely quality employee at NUFC. No backing and it will be contract termination by mutual consent in the summer or another constructive dismissal case. Rafa made his point about promises being honoured.

It's also decision day for Ashley. Does he want to lose £200m on the value of the club, having turned down a decent offer or 3 from Staveley?

Ashley has had his money back off the club and is prepared to gamble on hitting the jackpot, whenever that may come. It isn't now and I reckon he'll be prepared for relegations as well.

He doesn't give a shite about relegation its not coming straight back up that will though. If they get relegated I hope they don't come up just so the value of the club keeps going down.

It would be funny in about 3 years if staveley came in with an offer of £100m and the fat cunt had to take it.
