Ignoring the fact those 2 'strikers' don't score goals at the best of times, where is the creativity coming from?

Diame off the bench in the 85th minute.

Restricting it to 4 might be optimistic but you can never tell with Newcastle. Surprised that Gayle is on the bench.

If we lose to City next week that’s the first time we’ve lost 5 at home since 1953, this means we’re gonna win the FA cup in 2019.

Couldn’t face watching this one lads after the last few weeks, but sounds like having nothing upfront is the story yet again, doesn’t matter what opposition we face, they all know we simply can’t score, currently the easiest team to face by some distance.

Ashley isn't going to leave until he has well and truly dry bummed us. Going to take some doing to keep us up.

Am I being too pessimistic in thinking this takeover isn't going to happen?

We played better after going a goal down though it was very direct particularly when we went two uptop. The players are still playing for Rafa, the application and effort were all still there the side's just devoid of match winning quality in the final third.

Better than expected but we cannot score. As it stands at the moment we are bottom three.
Takeover needs to accelerate fast.

We need to get something at West Ham who are fast improving but certainly not unbeatable. In the bottom three which should give Staveley a better bargaining position. Ashley either spends 30/40m in January to stave of relegation, puts 50m in to try and get us promoted and find a manager to do it, or excepts Staveley's 250m with 50m to come if we stay up. If I was a gambling man I would take option 3.

Knew this day would come, the Arsenal fans have cottoned on to the fact that Merino is a potential world class star so it'll be mainstream soon.

Forget the City game if we get out it's a bonus. We need something at West Ham , 3 points versus Brighton and something away to Stoke. Whatever's happening in the boardroom we need players in as soon as the clock hits the 1st of Jan. We play Swansea, Burnley and Palace after that and those games could well dictate our season.

The easiest team talk all season 'don't worry lads it's Newcastle. A goal will come eventually then just play it about at the back'

Repeat at half time

Well it’s just a question of if there’s 3 worse teams, I’d say at the moment possibly only Stoke and Swansea and they could both be in the verge of bringing in new managers which generally gives teams a lift. Pards could finally have reached the end at West Brom, he got time at Palace cause he used to play for them, but he could help us out by showing exactly how good a manager he is.

71% home possession, 23 attempts to our 10, Ozil scores a brilliant goal. January window is so vital and just what vin says earlier: what option do we take. Should it be non of those then we are down.

The biggest surprise was only the 1 but not the nil.#

To be fair, some good effort today and some determined defending. Yet again though, Ashley has been given a lesson in what investment is. Some of these teams have so much more quality on the pitch. After Merino, I am struggling to think of any quality that we have, even if some players do have potential.

Vin pretty much hits the nail on the head. In Ashley's hands, he will never deserve a better price.

Bottom three now confirmed after West Ham scoring three without reply at Stoke. Takeover may be remote now.

Benitez says we just need some luck in the final third.
No we need to be more clinical not rely on luck.
They are fighting hard and the fans understand
Do they?

"Benitez says we just need some luck in the final third."

That's exactly the sort of thing Pardew would have said after selecting a team without a striker.

In fact It's the Arsenal defenders that needed luck yesterday, did you see joselu's attempt at that overhead bicycle kick ?

I thought Murphy and Merino were both excellent and the team showed they are not as shite as they are been led to believe, with a real striker we could easily have gained a point.

Bringing on Diame after 80+ minutes was the most entertaining part of the match.

Benitez needs to be bold against West Ham and I'd play Merino, Murphy, Aarons and Gayle in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Not likely to happen under Benitez.

Lets hope they play a strong team as there'll be a fair few Hammers there. Relegation is between Swansea, West Brom, Us, Stoke and Brighton IMO.

Huddersfield are still in it for me, goal difference is always a good measure, rarely do the 3 teams with the worst goals difference not go down.
