Random quote: Keggy Keegal on Pardew saying we 'rebooted' - yeah we rebooted then Carver pressed Ctrl, Alt, Delete brought the task manager up and we could see Colo was using too much ram , so we ended the process and erm we're unlucky not to get something

Looking at it a different way, we lost against a club who have beaten our own transfer record 6 times in two years and 4 times last summer.

This run of defeats has confined us to relegation.
No real investment but is that the only thing. is Benitez blameless?
It may be too late.

I'm impressed he even got 18 touches.

Another game where we could have had a little bit of luck and got much more but at the end with the players disappearing down the tunnel that bit quicker than usual, one bloke stood out and faced the music.

Jamaal Lascelles, again being the sole person to walk in front of the crowd and appreciate the support. Whilst all else seems to be failing, at least we have a proper captain.

Opinions aside, here's an interesting stat.

In the 11 games he's played, we have conceded 2 twice, conceded 1 goal six times and kept 3 clean sheets.

In the 6 games he hasn't played, we have conceded 2 twice, conceded 3 in a game three times and 4 goals once. No clean sheets.

Overall in his 11 games played we've shipped 10 goals but in the 6 missed we've let in 17.

some think he is a canny player, touted for an England call up and Chelski were alledgedly sniffing around him prior to his injury.

I seem to recall him being at fault for a fair few goals this season or has certainly had a hand in them. People’s judgment is clouded because he scored a couple.

In reality, the Titantic and Andy O’brien could turn quicker.

Never noticed this watching last night.Neither did the ref it seems and he was looking straight at it.Bet there wont be an FA charge coming his way.

It was the consensus of opinion last night Marky that Rooney could have easily walked for that challenge.

I'm not trying to stick up for rooney here, but it was more a push to the face with the lower arm rather than a forearm smash or elbow.

Andy Carroll walked for a similar 'leading with the arm' challenge earlier this season.

I wonder if Atkinson was thinking about something like a Wayne Rooney Christmas present, along the lines of the shirt he wore when scoring his 50th England goal or sloppy seconds on a grab-a-grannny night.

Really Pie.If its elbow/forearm or whatever.Do you not think its a bit late.Ritchie knocked the ball away then got hit.Seen players sent off for less.Or at least booked.

Whilst I am agreeing with this, in the context of the same game the consistency wasn't there yet again.

We can argue that the Rooney thing was borderline or maybe hard for the ref to spot but he seemed to notice things that weren't there like Tom Davies shoulder charging one of our lot and then diving to the floor thus getting a free kick.

Match of the Day also failed to highlight loads including the early free kick which looked in the box to me.

How many times have I heard pundits commenting on similar. 'If you lead with your arm raised you run the risk', but that's their opinion and whether you agree or not? Had the final score been different last night then maybe this would not be as contentious.

Don't get me wrong here lads.

I absolutely understand that players have been sent off for similar or even less.

That's why I commented that football is knackered.

Just saying I don't see intent to hurt Ritchie, maybe a booking would have been in order as marky suggested....but a sending off ...... ?

For me Everton were really poor. Two crap teams and one (us) had a worse keeper and no luck.
