Random quote: Keggy Keegal on Pardew saying we 'rebooted' - yeah we rebooted then Carver pressed Ctrl, Alt, Delete brought the task manager up and we could see Colo was using too much ram , so we ended the process and erm we're unlucky not to get something

Benitez
14 December 2017 13:38 Post ID: #485955 - in reply to #485711
One thing I reckon and partly my main reason for being diluted in any criticism towards Rafa is that I thing he is in charge of a false economy. By that I mean the majority of the whole squad would be different if he had proper control of transfers.

If or when we eventually have an owner that allows us to become a football club again, we would then see changes with probably only the likes of Merino safe from any cull.

The fact that Rafa chops and changes teams whether individuals have performed or not in their previous game or had a bad spell in training just reeks of a lack of trust.

10 years of Ashley and the manager is still taking the blame. He's certainly not blameless but if he'd been allowed to spend the 40m that Brighton and Huddersfield spent we would not be in this position now. Remember Benitez spotted goal keeper, left back, No 10 and striker as our weaknesses long before the season started. The fact that we only had funds for Joselu and Manquillo is hardly his fault.

But he spent £32.2m vin not exactly nowt. If he hadn't of wasted £12m on Murphy and £5m on Joselu they could have bought one decent striker.

Wasn't as simple as that. The club only released certain funds at a time and wouldn't pay the wages of many so Rafa had a smaller pond to fish in.

Agents fees were also an issue.

There’s no way you can judge a young lad like Murphy on a few games, A) 12 mill is nothing these days B) He actually wants the ball and doesn’t hide and C) He’s in a shite side, low in confidence with thousands of negative supporters ready to shred any players confidence for one misplaced pass.

But what's the point in signing players if you don't think are good enough. I understand if its fatty not wanting to pay their wages, but why not just bring in loan players but pay their wages. at least then your not wasting a transfer fee on them.

We needed proven quality players but Rafa will have signed what he could afford based on players showing potential. Whilst the ball is in the court of that one, there's also the thought that any cash is better spent than being kept sweaty in Ashley's pockets.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if Ashley's lot baulked at free transfers not actually being free with the majority of them able to command a higher wage. Our wages will be more than likely lower now per man than what they were when he came.

You would think so but it's been said that he doesn't see why he should potentially raise the value of something that isn't his. His blinkered version of running a football club then fails to realise that it can potentially help us as well.

But he'd sooner risk relegation by not bringing in loan players. Makes you wonder how he's a billionaire.

Can't be long before the cries of "he has lost the dressing room start up". Are they playing for him? They all seem to be getting worse every week.

They did a job in The Championship but poor additions have exposed the whole squad as not up to it.
Meanwhile the takeover zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz??
