Any passing is sad KK, I lost my Dad on Nov' the 8th, he had just turned 79yo, i was 57 last Wednesday.
We all think our dad is a legend but my old Pa was in league of his own, the family rock in every sense of the word.
Mrs B in 25 yrs had never seen me shed a tear until dad became ill, I thought he'd live forever . Our kids, his grand kids, are absolutely beside themselves. They both worshipped the ground he walked on.
We're all struggling to imagine life without him.

Birdys - 21/11/2017 20:25

Any passing is sad KK, I lost my Dad on Nov' the 8th, he had just turned 79yo, i was 57 last Wednesday.
We all think our dad is a legend but my old Pa was in league off his own, the family rock in every sense of the word.
Mrs B in 25 yrs had never seen me shed a tear until dad became ill, I thought he'd love forever . Our kids, his grand kids, are absolutely beside themselves. They both worshipped the ground he walked on.
We're all struggling to imagine life without him.

It is indeed Birdys . I'm sorry for your loss. I know you meant to write "I thought he'd live forever" but you've hit the nail on the head by accident haven't you ? He will love forever and live forever, through all of you.

Sorry to hear that, Birdy. I’m sure the memories that you have will live on though, with all the more reason to share the good times now.

Saw Rodney Bewes on a Manfreds gig. They invited him on stage to the theme song for The likely lads, which Mike D'abo wrote. Seemed a nice guy.
Birdys it's a struggle but you have the fond memories to look back on.

Regarding Rodney Bewes he was class in the likely lads shame about that cunt opposite him James Bolam, a despicable bloke apparently. He stopped any repeats of the likely lads making sure Rodney Bewes didn't get any royalties in the process. Falling out with Bewes because of a funny story he told someone that got back to Bolam.

I feel for you Birdys. My father had beaten 3 cancers and can relate to how it affects you to see a bigger hero than Shearer find vulnerability.

It probably sounds trite but at least we can cherish memories of fathers that other people would love to have had. The hurt may be harder but in time, the memories will be more important.

Concur with the sentiments and from me Mr B, some belated condolences.

It may mean nothing and hopefully it doesn't come across disrespectful, as it's not intended to be as my Dad is still alive, but I am in envy of what you have described in the relationship you have lost.

It's something that cant be taken away and is there to be cherished until your time comes.

I have had nowhere near the bond that you seem to have had and to this day we dont talk due to one thing or another. Still have my memories though but just cant get things sorted.
