Head bouncer in the gang of 10

Just watching them on tv and thinking back to a few away days at Ashton Gate they had some right mad bastards following them and listening to the atmosphere they still make plenty of noise. They would be in my top 10 of mad grounds to visit as an away fan but nothing beats Millwall for nutcases.

Most scared I've been as an away fan was Birmingham away in the mid 80's (84 or 85? ). Wasn't many there, the ground was a shithole, was in the winter. Reilly scored, Gazza was in midfield , I was a kid and the Birmingham fans were fucking animals , they were raining down burnt bits of paper, loo rolls and scalding hot drinks on us and god knows what else, lost me Uncle who I was with and luckily another away fan who we knew (a big biker looking bloke with long hair who everyone called Chewbacca) looked after me . The few coppers there were just laughing and some stewards were attacking us . Saw a lad younger than me severely burned and it wasn't till years later me Uncle told me Chewbacca's arm had been badly hurt that day , he'd had it round me.
