My top 5 off the top of my head:

1. Tinos 3rd v Barcelona
2. Shearers volley v Everton
3. Beardsleys chip v Brighton
4. Ginolas juggle and volley from a corner. European match, can't remember against who.
5. Phillipe Albert

Ginola's was against Ferencvaros or however it's pronounced.

This is always going to be a tricky list because I reckon we could all have different ones and I bet mine would change by the week.

Ginola's and Albert's goals were my two favourites, probably alongside the majority of Ben Arfa's goals with the one running through the entire Botlon team a particular favourite.

Take your pick out of most of Robert's, Beardsley's and Venison's goal(s) for an absolute selection of the rest.

There's been many over the years

I know there's been many, that was kind of the point of picking your 5.

Here's a few from the last 15 years or so but the Beardsley in the mid 80's scored more than one world class goal. The one where he beat the Portsmouth defence with body swerves and shimmies before raking it over the line springs to mind.

I still think Mathie's was a fluke.

Possibly. Half seemed to slip before striking it, even if the run was spot on.

Whatever happened to the lad? I know he was fringe first-team, but he was only at the Toon a very short while. Any ideas why?

Great topic and some crackers already mentioned . A few less obvious ones :

The Shearer free kick in the 4-3 win against Leicester in 97 was one of the hardest shots I've ever witnessed I swear it seemed like Shearer went "we are NOT fucking losing to Leicester".

The Asprilla goal in the 4-3 defeat against Liverpool, the ball was canny from Robert Lee but the way Tino seemed to swerve it into the net with his first touch was something I've never seen before or since.

The Andy Cole strike against Chelsea , the one where he heads it into position and then half volleys it with his left foot into the roof of the net at Kharine's (?) near post.

Oba Martins just absolutely twats it into the net against Spurs.

Cisse's against Chelsea, the loop right over and around Cech from that rare 5 month period where it seemed like every time he touched the ball he scored .

Duncan Ferguson's goal against Manchester United, Shearer heads it on for him, big Dunc spins no less than Jaap Stam and volleys it with his left past a flailing Bosnich.

Probably just the wrong club at the wrong time. There was no way he was going to be picked over Cole and Beardsley.

It's just a bit of fun off the top of your head. I won't hold you to your selections, but if it's too taxing for you fair enough.

The Ferguson goal against the Mancs is a great shout, also loved Tinos 2nd against Metz, straight from Pavels kick, 3 touches and goal, sublime skill.

Shearer volley everton

Albert chip against man utd --not the best goal ever but the occasion timing and fergie's face

Cisse with that chip as he was falling

Beardsley overhead scissor kick

Ginola crossing from a ridiculous angle from the left and big Les Ferdinand getting between two defenders and burying it with his nut.
