Quoted this morning as saying Shelvey should have a long hard look at himself before pulling the black and white shirt on again. There is some truth in that but fuck me don't get me started on Owen's time at the club. Does he think we have all forgotten?

Is this the same Michael Owen who thought it ‘wasn't worth risking injury' in our final game against Chelsea as it might affect his chances at the world cup?

I was actually hoping that he was dead when I read the headline.

A failure as a human being.

Sorry to build your hopes up Marra. As for Owen I couldn't agree more, horrible little cunt. He was one of the first celebrity footballers to convince me to stop funding their lifestyles.

All Shelvey has done is show up a certain rule for what it is. Daft.

Loads of players have got away with challenges over the years that have done serious damage to their opponent but im struggling to think of anyone that even got took off for what wasn't even a stamp, it was more a stand.

As for Owen, he hasn't the capability to form an opinion of his own and is jumping on the clueless 'expert' bandwagon.

Owen was really symptomatic of everything that was wrong with the Shepherd era. He was bought as big signing to play with/replace Shearer , it was the old obvious move that always seemed to designed to try and appease. Sign a striker , the Newcastle fans are daft for a striker. It was an attempt to lend support to the insane decision to appoint Souness, who was already well into his genius plan of breaking up the best young team in the league.

Owen never wanted to come here. He wanted to go back to Liverpool (Gerrard and Carragher lobbied Benitez to bring him back from Real Madrid and whilst there was some interest Benitez felt Torres was the better option, he also again rejected the chance to sign Owen after he left us) and the fact he was given so many concessions by the board and the management (don't have to live in the area , given more time off then any other player at the club, allow Newcastle United to be used as a glorified health spa for his Team England career, given time off to go to the racing) in order to get him and later to placate him showed how utterly bereft we were of anything approaching good judgement from the dugout or the boardroom.

My abiding memory of Owen's time here isn't a single goal but the time when under Roeder's management Micheal, clearly hoping to make the second to last race of the day, blatantly faked an injury in an effort to try and be substituted. An exasperated Roeder made him stay on, Owen proceeded to go down at least three more times, and showed the kind of effort and mobility usually associated with Shola Ameobi. His day finally ended by just sitting on the pitch and shaking his head. Eventually Roeder capitulated and Owen's number was shown. Micheal made the most effort he'd made all afternoon, dashed off the park, gave a furious Roeder a huge grin and then disappeared down the tunnel.

If you've any doubt as to the character of this man just watch this as a young Jack Colback keeps goal:

Micheal Owen is an utter cunt .

Quite a revealing clip that Keggy, pity the 13 yr old keeper didn't banjo the little fuckwit.
Newcastle's worse signing ever & we've had a few.
Southall a class keeper,he also collected clocks!
