Random quote: Keggy Keegal on Pardew saying we 'rebooted' - yeah we rebooted then Carver pressed Ctrl, Alt, Delete brought the task manager up and we could see Colo was using too much ram , so we ended the process and erm we're unlucky not to get something

The problem I always have with these type of reports is the subliminal message in them that suggests Raffa had never heard of Mike Ashley,or that he is a lying cheating greedy scumbag.

I don't think anyone's suggesting that, I think it's just a case he wants to work in England, for a big club if possible and he's really trying to make the most of it and work with what he's got, until Ashley makes it unworkable which let's face it, could happen at anytime.

Your argument makes perfect sense PK but my cynicism stems from the fact that Benitez is doing a great job for Ashley's NUFC model, whether it be intentional or not.

Remember we were told that no one would be stupid enough to replace Pardew and Ashley's grip would loosen the minute he was given the boot....

He'll definitely be doing a great job if he keeps us up on Ashleys budget and you're right, the business model will be proven to work, but only with a good manager at the helm, cannot be worked with journeymen nomarks. It's not worked yet under Ashleys tenure, but will Benitez be the difference? If he is what then, we finish mid table, Ashleys shite brand is advertised across the world for another season and Ashley again sees no need to invest or have ambition next summer, at which point Benitez would surely depart. Then another journeyman comes in and so the failed business model returns and fights with relegation yet again. It's fucking depressing like, but it just seems like a never ending circle of failure and mediocrity under this owner.

It's a pretty considered article considering her anti Newcastle stance in the past. We'll do what we normally do, wait far too long and scramble to get the likes of Lua Lua on loan from South Shields.

That's how I see it.

Ashley will not spend his personal funds unless he absolutely has to,and even then it's in the form of a loan.

Another pre-season of waiting and waiting. Does that idiot learn nothing year on year? Still, when our owner's basic business model is that of a glorified Del Boy Trotter, what chance have we got?

Crazy, really.

*Almost everyone in the universe knows if you give Rafa 70m to spend this summer, he'd build a decent mid-table side, thus, making many more millions for the owner in income, for year after year.

*Almost, not all.

Sadly, you're right, Piemag. It's the frustration of following this club. Obstinate, stubborn, know it all who doesn't give a toss about the club he owns would be more accurate.

I was told at the start of his taking over that Ashley stated to someone I am not letting those idiots run the club. I will get my own people to run it.
This he has done, he does not listen and he has the right puppet alongside in Charnley and now additionally Barnes.
Rafa will get the best he can out of what is at his disposal but there is not a lot there. We have one striker who seems to have hamstring problems and is unproved in The Permiership and A hot head who cannot score. Injury to either and the barrel is empty. A dodgy left back, heavy reliance on Shelvey in midfield and average keepers. We may start ok but games and injuries will find us out unles there are incoming in the next couple of weeks. As for Rafa, Would not surprise me if he called it quits in the near future. Ashley will be happy remaining just above relegation and not spending too much.
The only light in the tunnel is a possible takeover which I am surprised has hot happened a
Ready for a club with a constant large following and in a reasonably healthy financial state.
