Plays nicely into Rafa's hands. Get the player now; pay later, after some prize money has been awarded.

Keep the cash you have available now; for another player, now.

Striker of note please, Rafa.

Great job so far - but we need goals,

Given Rafa's insistence on a 4-5-1 formation it's a no brainer that we need a number 10 to play behind the striker,De Jong & Perez are shit & just don't cut it,Richie could play it but only as a back up.
So that's a top notch striker & an attacking midfield player we need quickly to ensure goals.
Dig deep you fat fucker & we might have a chance of finishing mid table.

Oxlade Chamberlain's available for a reported 25 million . Ross Barkley's career at Everton is over fee anything between 30-50 million. Javier Hernandez went to West Ham for 16 million . These are all the sort of players we should be going for, all have Premier League experience and two are young enough to either be staples of the side for years to come or be sold on at a profit. In the Keegan era we'd be convincing them we're attempting to build something and certainly be in the hunt.

Mac anyone that believes that there has been any change in policy at NUFC needs psychiatric help. Benitez is a class act but he is working for a cunt and we all know how it will end it obviously suits Benitez at the minute and i have this faint hope that someone is going to buy the club and we can wave goodbye to the fat parasite although i know it is wishful thinking.

It's not surprising but it's disappointing. Rafa's blatantly lying.

A slight bit of digging (as lots of fees are undisclosed I've used Transfermarkt's figures as they've often been proven accurate in the past) reveals the following :

We've signed 5 players for a sum total £28.73m (there's perhaps an undisclosed loan fee as well for the new kid from Dortmund) . This summer we've had the £9.35 million for Thauvin, £1.96 million for Murphy and the Gibson sale a structured £6 million that totals £17.31 million.

Last season we spent £54.74 million and received £85.72 million. By my basic maths that means just on fees there's a profit of £19.56 million that's conveniently disappeared (the club will doubtlessly waffle about undisclosed expenses and agents fees but as we know from other club's high profile deals this summer the agents fee is included as part of the transfer fee).

There is also the following which is never ever considered when discussing any club's transfer business (I remember debating this at some length with a few on here yrs ago) , that being Amortization. Transfer fees for accounting purposes are spread over the length of a players’ contract.

Using Wijnaldum as the example we bought him for for £17 million on a 5 year deal. For accountancy purposes that's £3.4 million a season for the 5 seasons he's contracted for. He was sold after one season so there was a value left in the books of £13.6 million . He was sold for £23.38 million so the reported profit on the sale will be £9.78 million in the accounts.

The absolutely key figure however is the annual profit improvement which would be in Wijnaldum's case ,the seasons wage (Gini was believed to be on £2.6 million a season) so £2.6 million + his annual/season amortization of £3.4 million + the sale profit of £9.78 million .

So in the accounts Newcastle United (still with me?) made an annual profit improvement on Wijnaldum of £15.78 million.

That's the same for every player we sign or sell . We're not really spending what we supposedly are and with the current polices in place we're making far more on sales than is ever truly reported. Even the players we're supposedly losing money on could in some cases be shown as being an annual profit improvement on .

(I used this fella's blog http://www.danielgeey.com/ to help explain this both in the past and today. )

Thanks mac

15 quid a ticket 20 on the door !
Just to listen to our manager who apparently "gets us"
The hypocrisy of these fuckers is breathtaking.

Football is crazy because of the market, but working class people have to pay stupid money to listen to a manager with a far from crystal clear accent.

Love this line
"no matter what the most important thing is that we all stick together, the players the fans, the fans especially"

Support the team not the regime, now where have I heard that before.

"Stop getting angry at matches, stop getting frustrated"

His grooming techniques are better than Saviles

"Bournemouth West Ham are paying wages we can't afford"

I remember Allardyce getting slated for trying to manage our expectations.

Basically Ashley has found someone to spread his message without any of the flack Pardew got.

We are not at the party compared with some clubs in the Prem when it comes to making a profit on transfers. I remember posting that the Spuds had a surplus over the last 10 years of £252m and that is without the wedge they will get for Walker. How they manage to get in Europe and to cup finals year after year and still sell their prize assets makes Ashley want some of the same.

I don't know why you're so proud of your ignorance .

Ginola was well known in world football . He was a key player for PSG and was fantastic against Barcelona in the 1994 Champions League Quarter Final . It's never been exactly clear how we beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to his signature but at the time there was lot mentioned about PSG breaching an agreement to sell us George Weah and to avoid legal action Ginola was the sweetener. He was also quite well known for the mistake against Bulgaria in the 1994 World Cup Qualifier that Gerard Houllier branded him a criminal for .

Wasn't really aware of Coloccini but he was an Argentinian international I'd probably watched him on the telly in the 2006 World Cup but he hadn't registered .

Thought everyone had heard of Ginola after 'that' game in the World Cup against Bulgaria. He became public enemy number one in France after his pass in injury time that led to Bulgaria's winner meant elimination from the competition.

We're not talking competing with Spurs at the moment , we're talking competing with Bournemouth , West Brom , Watford, Burnley , Southampton , Swansea, Crystal Palace and Stoke. Are all teams we should be able to do better than from a financial point of view. West Ham's free stadium means they've won the lottery. Everton's owner has invested in the squad (partly financed by the sales of Lukaku and the imminent sale of Barkley) in a way that Ashley should have been at Newcastle over the years. Spurs and Liverpool have had huge player sales (Liverpool sold Suarez and Sterling at huge profits and Spurs have bought superbly recently but the Bale and Berbatov fees cover a lot) . Arsenal, the Manchester clubs and Chelsea have gone away from us for the probably the next 5 years and Leicester remains an unknown quantity .

I'd say without appraising myself of the exact figures (I've done enough maths for one day) as a club we've laid out 50-60 million more than we've taken in in straight fees across the last 10 seasons (that figure when amortization is applied would be quite different but on a player for player basis across 10 years annual profit improvement would be too much to work out , I'm sad but not THAT sad) . Which when you factor in the two relegations, the various squad resets, the different managers and some of the ludicrous decisions made is a minuscule outlay. We got 70 million prize money for finishing 18th in the league season 15/16.
