We'll probably sell next, raise (a small amount of) cash, keep the wage billunder control, and make some space for incoming into the squad.

Krul is the most likely I would say; But it would be Colback if it was my choice. The lad has only ever been in relegation scraps, when in the Premier League. Not good enough for this level, or the one below either.

You could make a case for 3/4's of the squad not being good enough so it's a lottery as to who is next out the door .
If the likes of Lazzar and Gamez can't get a game in the championship they should be penciled in first for the hook ....

Daryl Murphy to Forest £2m and that reserve, Lewis Gibson for over £6m!

It's a strange scenario with Gibson. Only 16 and on the radar of all the top clubs because of his performances in the England U17 team. A potential star is sold like an unpolished diamond. Just wait till the rough edges are taken off.

It is strange. He obviously doesn't want to sign a deal so the bigger fee will probably apply in order to avoid a compensation battle.

Says a lot about the set up at lower level although something that Rafa would want to sort in time, if allowed to, no doubt.

Is the lad from the Toon? If so, might see him back one day.

Murphy was looking forward to a crack at the Prem - might have gotten a few goals if given games as well. £2m is a bit of a bargain for the lad - will bang them in for Forest.

I assume it means we have an incoming striker in the pipeline.......this is key to our season; the shortage of goals in the current squad will see us relegated alone. Has to be top, top priority now.

If he doesn't come back will you hope one of his family gets raped like you suggested to a poster on here the other day?

Selling a promising local lad tells you all you need to know about our future under fatty and underlines exactly how much control Benitez has.

I dont think it's as straight forward as that.

We have offered a contract but he is only on a scholarship at present, rather than a full time professional contract. This 'deal' runs out at the end of next June. If then he decides to go then it will be for nowt but compensation.

Selling him now for £6m plus a sell on fee makes sense if he has indicated that he wants to move on at that time.

Maybe he has seen that his Brother hasn't really progressed here and the family reckons there's potential being wasted with Ashley putting the academy improvements on hold again. Whatever the real story, Rafa has only been here a year and it could take a decade to sort out the youth side.

We simply don't bring youth through properly to first team level at the moment. We're not the only ones guilty of that though. It's a problem throughout the league with perhaps Everton and Southampton the only exceptions.

Bottom line is Ashley made £6m.

You would think having a world class manager as your sons mentor would convince the family that the lad was in the right place.

Maybe as you said it's because it could take a decade to sought out the academy and rafa is halfway through a two year contract and at odds with his boss.

Looks like Rafa is trying to push a few out now.

Kind of refreshing to have to push players from the club, instead of them wanting to leave.

Krul, Saivet, Mitrovic (at least) all seem to have multiple reports of them being or about to be pushed out.

I'd add De Jong and Colback to that lot. Maybe keep Mitrovic unless the offer was too good to turn down.

"Push out" and "out the door" seems to have become metaphors for sell before you buy.

That's what Rafa has been instructed to do by his boss, same as his predecessors were.
