News to me,although i'm sure it's common knowledge.

It gives great insight/confirmation into what type of a knacker we are lumbered with and why I believe we could have Alex Ferguson at his best managing our club and still be shit.

This is my personal favourite:

"Investment banker Jeffrey Blue also described, in evidence to the High Court, what he described as "pub lock-in" management sessions fuelled by drinks, kebabs and fish and chips."

:1 He sounds like David Brent.

I particularly liked Ashley's defence had the brass neck to accuse Blue of an" opportunistic try on " is delightfully ironic.

Hardly a revelation though. His class shines out.

"His class shines out. "

It certainly does pellet.

I know little of Ashley to be honest, apart from his twat like behaviour at our club.

I had NO idea he was as bad as Blue is claiming.

I'm not sure about the
"lying underneath tables in meetings he found boring to take a nap"
story though,surely he's not that arrogant ?

Latest from the horses mouth:

Mr Ashley calculated that within an hour he would have drunk four to five pints.

He told the court: "It was a fun evening - drinking at pace," he said. "I like to get drunk. I am a power drinker."

Personal experience has revealed he most definitely is drunk on power.

He also touched on his role at Newcastle United, saying: "They are really not interested in my opinion."

I think this whole episode is a 'bit' bizarre. I know (questions know) the spoken word should be binding but surely, when you're talking BIG business & 15mil, the agreement would be based on more than a discussion in a pub, drunken or not.
From what I know of MA, the Mrs of a bloke I know holds a decent position in his EMPIRE (cue Star Wars music) says he really does come across as a normal chap. Wanders round in jeans, first name terms with everyone, enjoys a good p155 up, etc etc.. In all honesty the sort of bloke I wouldn't mind knowing if he hadn't bummed our club.
Still think as far as business goes I count my fingers after shaking his hand but I hope he wins this one.

I hate Ashley (yes, hate, a word I'm lucky to reserve for very few people) so part of me wants him to be royally fucked over in court . Another part thinks if we were taken to court based on a pissed up promise in a pub we'd all be playing harmonicas and rattle our cups against the bars .

This a a rare chance for us to see the real Ashley and I'm hooked.

He's definitely a cunt, but deserves some credit for five pints in one hour.

Agree with the digs at the legal system,it's knackered as well as stacked in favour of those who can afford it.
