If Charnley is negotiating, he is in a different league now. Sure there is plenty of transfer window left but we don't want to be playing catch up after dropping points because the squad is lacking quality.
A difficult market but other clubs are progressing and the January market will be even more difficult.
We are not the attraction we thought we were, even with Rafa or Charnley is trying to get players in on the cheap in the current high value market and dithering.
Do not have great confidence in Charnley, he is out of his depth, maybe under instruction to dither. I hope not and I hope we get some quality in because the current attack will not threaten anyone

We're goals short of survival right now. Not enough goals in the squad by a long way.

I know we dont trust Ashley, Charnley or this Barnes character that came in but to put it into context there is still 52 days left of the window.

But only four weeks and a few days for the manager to gel six plus players not yet signed into a unit.

The longer we go without a signing the more I expect Rafa to spend on our greater needs. Just got to work out which department is lacking the most and spend the most there.

That would be a striker or a creative midfielder for me. Once one of these is bought then we can get others further down the list to fill the gaps.

We need to remember that the club's target isn't matching what we think we should aim for and this season is all about consolidation. We're there or thereabouts anyway.

I get that half the stories in the press will br garbage... but why are we linked with a huge bid for a keeper ? I hope this is a rubbish link, as keeper is a department that can cope in the premier league.
If the statement "he can have every penny generated by the club " , I wonder how much is in the pot as the players linked ie jefferson montaro and Traroe are piss poor. Add on that if the link is true we were sniffing around free transfers in Navas .... 70 million warchest? More like biscuit tin

It gets more worrying with each passing day and it's not like we haven't been here before. The longer the absence of new signings goes on the more chance we have that Rafa will calling it a day. He's been patient so far but Charnley is using the old tactics of offering far less than the going rate for players we want to purchase but seeking top dollar for the deadwood we want to shift from the club. We all know that Ashley's statements can't be relied on as he's a proven liar.

Rafa's finding it difficult to spend in this transfer market though toony,he said so himself.

Apparently the free dosh from Sky can not be justified been spent because the market is a bit crazy.

Oddly he is also finding the other market a bit crazy as it appears he is unable to sell the championship specific players he bought early last summer.

You would think managers from that division would be keen on players experienced in gaining promotion.

`You would think managers from that division would be keen on players experienced in gaining promotion'.

They would be Piemag if it wasn't for the transfer fees that we are requesting.

I think we're still about 6 players light - at least a good striker and offensive midfielder short of even survival, which is very minimum requirement.

By the way, did Goofy sign or not? I don't think he's worth keeping at this level.

Its obvious to me we need to sell before we can buy, strange that we are struggling to sell all those top signings which Rafa made last year? Odd that.

We have to shift a few, for sure. Even if it's only to get them off the payroll.

Maybe they are waiting for bids from Real Madrid.

It is dragging on.

I'm also finding the apparent targeting of a winger over a out and out goalscorer bizarre.

'De plane, boss, de plane'.
