Please let this come to pass, if it does old Ben will be off down to the stadium of shite next season so he can gaze at his hero in the flesh. Without doubt one of the most over rated managers in football. My only regret is that he didnt get the England job when the media were wanking over him.

No former Newcastle United manager should manage the Mackems . It showed what Allardyce thought of us by accepting that job. Pards is a big enough twat to take it . Incidentally heard the rumour that the Mackems said Pickford was to be sold and Moyes wouldn't get a penny of the transfer fee to spend.

I reckon they can't do better than get someone like Ranieri in to lift the place although ive a sneaky feeling they'll get an upcoming sort like Gary Monk.

McLaren is available.

Most of our former bosses under Ashley, are.

Anyone from Licky Lips, JFK, Pardew or Schteve would be excellent.

Thought he had just said he wants to leave without actually quitting? Some club put the bite on him?

It's supposedly to do with future recruitment although the next issue is that Hippo Heed thinks he has a 6 month break clause in his deal. Not sure if that means he gets a pay off or not.

Looks like Hippo Heed has gone for good, which will worry the chewing gum business as they may fold on the back of it.

Here's what he said in a statement.

In some ways, this has been a very difficult decision to make but in others it has been a simple one.

I will always be grateful to Crystal Palace and Steve Parish for giving me the opportunity to go out with my head held high having helped keep the Club in the Premier League.

More than, they gave me a chance of rebuilding my reputation after what happened with England. I felt I needed another shot at being a Premier League manager and in helping to achieve something. As I said last weekend, Palace gave me the chance of rehabilitation.

That’s why it’s hard walking away now. I think the Club are heading in the right direction with a hugely supportive board of directors, a great squad of players and some of the most passionate fans I’ve ever met. It’s been a privilege to have worked here for the past five months.

But there comes a time when you have to take stock of what direction you want your life to take - and that’s been the simple part for me.

I want to be able to savour life while I’m still relatively young and when I’m still relatively healthy enough to do all the things I want to do, like travel, spend more time with my family and grandchildren without the huge pressure that comes with being a football manager.

This is the right time for me. I have no ambitions to take another job, I simply want to be able to enjoy all the things you cannot really enjoy with the 24/7 demands of managing any football club, let alone one in the Premier League.

Steve Parish has been superb during our conversations today. I know it came as a shock to him that I would walk away but our discussions have been incredibly civilised with no recriminations and no fall-out.

This is not about transfer targets, finances or anything along those lines. This is me taking the decision I believe is right for my family and myself.

I would like to thank everybody for their messages of support since the news broke. I’ve no doubt I will miss management but I certainly have no regrets at this decision.

He's greased his palm very nicely from some of the club's he's been manager of. Casa St James' is one of the assets he has accrued from his time here. Probably looked at Moyes and thought, 'I don't need this shit either', I have enough for a comfortable existence now.

or he's found out that there's another exclusive out there just gathering dust and waiting for the right time.

Sounds like his lass has had a word, the fucker has winged it for well over 2 decades & come out of it with a fortune.
Will always remember the cunt telling my youngest as a 10 yr old at sunlun to do 10 more press ups because he'd fell in love with the ball, just another no mark.
Needless to say he's got a career in punditry alongside savage,owen,sutton....

Maybe I'm seeing things that aren't there but it all looks a bit dodgy to me with Sam resigning. Sam was manager of West Ham and Newcastle , both clubs have recently been implicated in an ongoing HMRC investigation . Sam's been mentioned before in allegations during the 2006 football "bung" saga. For the uninitiated Allardyce, and his son Craig were alleged to have accepted bribes from agents for signing certain players. Two agents, Teni Yerima and Peter Harrison, were secretly filmed, each separately claiming that they had paid Allardyce through his son. Allardyce denied ever taking, or asking for, a bung . We also have him as England manager advising how to get round third party ownership regulations and subsequently resigning. Also what's all this stuff with Proctor House and him having money in the Indigo hotel ? It's all a bit too coincidental. Sam's got form for only resigning when there's a disgrace or a better deal from someone else on the table. One day he's talking about his summer transfer business the next he's retiring from football walking away from a 2.5 million a year contract . Doesn't add up at all .

Yup, something flagged up in my mind as well.

I put it down to potentially taking medical advice.

But he's a slippy fat hippo-heeded fucker - so being caught up for handling one or two too many full brown paper bags full of cash is quite possible.

Let's see if he fucks if to somewhere warm - that had no extradition treaty with the UK.
