Random quote: Platinii - I would prefer a coffee table at left back instead of Perch. I doubt even a coffee table could lose the ball twice in one move.

With Gayle your talking a 20 to 25 game a season player now - once hamstrings play up like his has done, it remains for the rest of his career that way.

And Carroll won't play half of that.

Would be two big wages, for less than a season between them.

Can't see it happening, even on a free. Maybe when he's 33 or something, on a freebie - but not right now.

Carrolls fitness over the last few seasons has been questionable, but I think given the oppertunity to return here would benefit him and the team as a whole. Gayle, well remains to be seen how his recent injuries will factor into things. Personally would like to see Dafoe and Carroll playing for us up front but that's not likely to happen.

Tragic situation with Carroll's career, if it wasn't for all of his injuries he would be one on the worlds leading strikers with a whole load of England caps under his belt. In saying that he also would not be playing with a shambolic outfit like West Ham currently are.

I don't understand the constant speculation and fan obsession with a potential return for Carroll . It happens nearly every window . He was a canny player but was always in trouble up here, is happy in London, his other half is from London, as his bairn, the last time he managed to play 30 games in a season was 5 years ago and he'd struggle to pass any medical that required him to do more than touch his toes.

Gael Clichy is out of contract this summer and has been told he has no future at Citeh, that would be a canny signing with plenty of expierience

He's been garbage for them whenever I've seen them . His pace used to get him out of mistakes but that's starting to dip off now.

I see, its just i think Dummet will end up a half decent centre half eventually, he has doen ok in the championship and dont mind him being a back up in that position for the prem, but i do think we need an alternative to him next season.

Couldn't agree more Pyrry . Dummett at left back has been a bugbear of mine for ages, not sure what Lazaar's done to never get a go . Tough to think of too many decent left backs around that are viable moves for us .

Was having a conversation with me Brother the other day about Dummett. He's one of those that get the grief quicker than anyone else but when you try to pinpoint mistakes, you more often than not, struggle.

Yeah tooney i think people are quick to jump on his back, but as you say its hard to put massive glaring mistakes against him, sure he will have good games and bad games or average games and bad games its the nature of the beast. While other defenders have had stinkers which may wel have led to goals, i cant really remember him costing us . He is a 100% er and i dont mind him as a back up for the prem.
