IT does not take that long to draw up a contract or sign a document stating that he will take over subject to conditions. They have had since last Wednesday evening 8 days to tie this up.
Charnley is hopeless in most aspects so you cannot be sure they won't f.ck this up, or that Benitas is waiting for a better offer.
Essential we get moving for next season.

And Ashley has enough money to give Rafa a decent kitty. They deserve to lose Rafa if they continue to p.ss around.

This may be an issue for OM to clarify, what with his recent completion of a similar subject but how long do contractual guarantees take to draft? Probably more importantly, do the legals get paid per hour or just for doing a certain task? Just with the Rafa thing still all about getting promises down in contract.

If the solicitor is solely working on it alone it would take a day or two. No more than week, depending on length.

Once a contract is drawn up you can use them time and time again though with the adjustment of a few precedents and/or terms.

Given that this is worth millions I'm sure they have a dedicated solicitor and this should've been all arranged way before the Spurs game, let alone now.

Just smacks of last ditch attempts yet again through sheer arrogance. No contingency plans as they thought they'd stay up. Wankers.

We all know what follows after a period of silence lads

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36331354

‘The club would like to extend a warm welcome to Neil Warnock who has an excellent record of achieving promotion, myself Bobby Moncur and Graham Carr will be working hard to get back to the premier league on Mikes budget of 6 quid, we need you the fans to support us constantly, by buying sh*** clothes from sh*** direct and spending on overpriced drinks and pies at the ground and please don’t swear and sing bad songs about Mike, who has his best interests at heart. ‘

Yours sincerely

Lee ‘the Administrator’ Charnley

PA to chief sewer rat Mike Ashley.

According to the usual suspects including Guillem Ball-ache, they reckon it's all on the table and that we should be optimistic that this should be concluded early next week.

Wouldn't mind, Shearer is still waiting for his phone call so this means nowt for now.

The first of the local papers tonight, The Northern Echo, reckon that Benitez is set to be confirmed by midweek next week and that he accepts that some players will need to be sold.

What isn't clear is the reason for doing so and one can only presume it's to create his own transfer kitty.

36 days until we start pre-season training and officially the scenario we said would happen, has. We're in limbo.

Yes, privately by members of the press we've snippets of things being close to being completed but not everyone reads their stuff and there will be fans that will be rightly concerned. All this after the article supposedly done by Charnley stated that the club would be better with their communication.

It's all well and good being confident behind the scenes but as usual it's the most famous part of the club that suffers.

Charnley is rumoured to be talking with Rafa again today. Im half expecting stories of a break down in talks to follow at some point.

If the club somehow manage to get Benitez to commit then expect a fair few people going back and season ticket sales to go up amazingly.

What is there left to discuss?
Charnley has f-caked up previously and should just give Benitez what he wants. Talk about whether it fits into the club plan. The plan if there ever was one is obsolete for Christ sake.
They are just wasting valuable time which they need to reorganise the whole club.
Would it take any other club as long to tie up the job. I don't think so.
God help us if Benitez says No because the clowns won't have thought about a Plan B

A lot of people with knowledge expect this to go through but the questions are there that wont be answered.

It does look like Ashley really does want this to work though and why wouldn't he considering the money available in the top league and the amount lost by not being in it.

For once, we hope that it's going to be about Newcastle United again and nowt else. It would be about time.

Bridges are there to be built but first they need the right materials.

Valencia are out of the running for a new manager as Pako Ayesteran has signed a 2 year deal.

Moyes looks like going back to Everton as well, so the amount of available jobs are slipping.

The strange thing is people keep talking about Benitez signing a deal, but in fact if reports are to be believed he already signed a 3 year deal. What is up for grabs now, as I understand it, is whether or not he invokes an escape clause after relegation. So you could argue no news is good news. Personally I would be happy if he told fatty to stick his club up his arse. But there you go.

Nope, told me about McLaren 3 days previous, Intimated Rafa coming, but did not see him prior to that one.

Met him this morning, through another sport funnily enough, and job is done.

Known him ages, you would all recognise him, if I named him, which I wont.

Will also add that Reserve Team coaches, goalkeeper, and associated staff have been told to go on holiday now, as they are expected back 3 weeks earlier than expected, to prepare for new season.

Said for a few yrs the players simply aren't fit enough . Training here has been lackadaisical for far too long . After some of the performances last season (that Palace away game springs immediately to mind) I would have taken the players to Cullercoats and beasted the fuck out of them.
