Called to the training ground in the afternoon?! They should fucking we'll be there all day until they get things right. I seem to remember seeing Pardew fuck off around 11am too after a hard day's graft.

They were on another day off.

They better have made the most of it . Rafa's been known to drag em in on a Sunday for video analysis and role specific sessions (sounds like SandM I know) .

Luke Edwards said on TalkShite that the running of the club has been changed from top to bottom to allow Rafa to come in.

Wonder who he means then.

Novel approach this for Newcastle and particularly Ashley . Let's hire the best manager available and let him do his job . Y'know what boys this might just work .

A 3 year contract with an opt out clause if we're relegated. That doesn't mean he wouldn't stay to try to get us back up either.

They'll be photos of him leaving in a bit, doesn't mean anything, he still hasn't met that repugnant cunt Ashley yet, plenty of time to fuck up the best opportunity they've had since Robson.

According to Twatter, there's a big crowd gathering at St James' but only 1 turned up for McClaren being there.

Hahaha this is becoming a bad habit .

Key from that article is the following : "The Club can also confirm the appointment of Fabio Pecchia, Francisco de Míguel Moreno, Antonio Gómez Pérez, who will join Ian Cathro and Simon Smith to form Benitez's coaching team. Paul Simpson, Alessandro Schoenmaker and Steve Black will part company with the club with immediate effect. "

He's brought his men in straight away too.

Aye but just because there's a clause there, it doesn't mean it'll be activated in the worst scenario.

Rafa Benitez said: "I have the pleasure to confirm I have committed to a legendary English club, with the massive challenge of remaining part of the Premier League.

"It will be a challenge not just for me and my staff but for the players, the Club and the fans.

"All of us must push together in the same direction and with the same target in mind. This is the reason why I'm going to ask for your total support to successfully complete this task.

"Personally, it means my return to the Premier League, closer to my home and my family. I can't be happier.

"C'mon Toon Army! The club and I need your total involvement!"

So we have the following 10 games :

Leicester away

Scum home

Norwich away

S'oton away

Swansea home

Liverpool away (now very interesting)

Palace home

Villa away

Spurs home

and finally
Man City home.

I'd say the Mackems, Swansea and Palace are all very winnable games . A minimum of a point each at Villa and Norwich puts us on 36 points and probably makes us safe . Min of 3 wins and two draws . Anything above that is superb . Anything below is very very risky .

The place was dead and relegation confirmed last weekend. The fact we now have a fighting chance and an increased interest in the club is half the battle won straight away.

It's up to the players to do their bit now.

If nothing else it'll be interesting to see any change of attitude in those responsible, Sissoko, Colo etc, let's see how they get on for a real manager.

We'd have had a far greater chance if McClaren had been replaced immediately after the Chelsea game . Those 18 days between then and the Stoke game could have been put to far greater use by Benitez. We'd have got something out of both them and Bournemouth. The problem here and now is squad depth . Benitez has gone from working with Ronaldo and Bale etc to working with the likes of Dummett and Gouffran. He doesn't have options if players are still tossing it off . It's a massive job for him but he's up to the task .

Win win as far as I'm concerned, if we're down Ashley loses money and his shite business model is exposed for the joke it is. If we stay up he's had to change his shite business model and just employ a good manager with control after 9 years of idiocy, either way the man's a fool.

Should've been in on Sunday ready to make a stamp. Fucking about means we've almost given up on Leicester already. Pathetic.

The last 12 months have seen slight change here and maybe another in that the model will change for good. Whatever happens, as fans we'll never put our full trust in anyone and just expect the usual fall to follow not far behind.

That said, im going to enjoy tonight in that we resemble some sort of a club today with people still reacting when the news is worthy. Id love this to be the beginning of a great era without the need to watch where we step or get swallowed up in the moment of anticipation. Id also love to think that mistakes have been learned and the how to be a football owner book (dummies edition) has been read and completed, so we can start to enjoy our life as a normal fan again.

Then again, this is Newcastle United, the club that every neutral wants to put down for not being a big club but is the one that everyone talks about. We deserve a quiet life with a good period to follow.

Hopefully this is now. If it's not, we'll never walk away, moaning about it........ now that's a different matter.

What's just as important as Rafa getting the job is that their failed business model has been scrapped. I'd like to think even if we get relegated that Benitez would stay to build the club up from it's very foundations. Lets get this new training ground finished and build up some close ties with the local schools and boys clubs and start to produce our own players which is far cheaper in the long run.

However this being Newcastle you expect relegation and Benitez to fuck off to AC Milan or somewhere and Pardew mark111111111111 will be appointed as our new boss.

As Benitez is hot on his facts. The facts are that the head coach business model is a massive, money losing failure.

I can also see Benitez staying as long as neeone gets on his back in the event of relegation. His presence alone next season in the dug out, would be so intimidating and paramount in helping us win at the likes of Burton Albion

Yep Vin, said the same to me brother before, if we stay up Ashley's money is banked and he may engineer a dispute with Benitez in the summer and draft in another cheap shite manager and the season on season relegation gamble continues. I think most have us will only believe a change in philosophy when it actually happens and continues for years.

If we go down he's not staying, simple as that. I like the optimism but on both fronts we're not paying that salary in the Championship and a bloke who's won the Spanish league, the Champions League, the Uefa Cup, Europa League, the FA cup and two Uefa manager of the year awards isn't going to stick around for the old 2nd division.

His first session is on periscope now . I'm that OCD I'm watching it .

I can see him staying. £2million a season, even £4million is peanuts if it gives you the best chance to get back to the money laden league.
