Being reported our business is concluded. If that's the case I think we could be in trouble. Only one injury away from relying on the same defence as last year. Cisse on the downward slide and Mitrovich seemingly hell beno on spending more time off the pitch than on. Where are the goals going to come from unless Toney is a surprise package.
Just think we will struggle to win games with the current squad. Need another rover striker and defensive cover. McClaren happy with squad but I feel we may be too manyonts adrift come January, especially if suspensions and injuries kick in, which they will. Happier with the coaching staff but feel the hierarchy have not strengthened in key areas

If our business is done then it'll have been a better window than any of us predicted, moreso if there's no outgoings or the likes of Williamson and Gouffran get sold.

We've had a tough start made even harder by 50% of our games seeing us a player short or against biased officials and isn't really a reflection of a massively improved set up and in comparison to last season's same fixture's, we'd be a point up as we lost at home to Southampton and away to Man Utd, gaining draws this time but sacrificing last season's away point to Swansea for a loss this time.

McClaren also stated that there was £150 million to spend this Summer but basically said that we'd spread it over 3 windows, January should see the extra defender we need before the likes of Williamson is sold, so that statement can be blown out of the water within 22 weeks or so, if it doesn't happen.

Oh dear TNMW it sounds like you actually believe what you are writing 150 million to spend unless he means pence I sincerely doubt it.

I dont know either way to be honest but am just stating what he said. If it doesn't happen then we only have to wait until the end of the January window for the theory to be shot down.

The fact that the TV cash is shooting up massively means every other team will be spending those amounts anyway

So we need players now but they're waiting until January when prices are inflated even more? Makes perfect sense.

We all know fattys bolting the horse bullshit simply meant spending enough to avoid a relegation battle again and keep the ground full, reckon he'll manage to do that by the looks of it.

Don't believe a word uttered by porky or donald trump.
He had the chance to sign a world class striker/defender & appoint a top manager,he's done none of these.
Made a couple of canny signings but they'll be sold at a profit if they come good.
Same owd tanner bag.16th or thereabouts, think he's done enough to avoid relegation whilst keeping his piggy bank full.

Any premiership manager who claims they are happy with a squad containing mike williamson (sorry keggy) is clearly lying.

The Daily Fail reckon Spurs enquired about Perez at the weekend and will pay £14.5 million for him. A profit of £13 million in a year? That sort of deal is what Ashley usually lives for.

That said, it's more than likely a non-story based on the rumour that all our purples have price tags of North of that figure plus the fact that if he progresses at the same rate as he has then he'll be worth double or treble that in a couple of years.

Thought Ashley was building for the future? This to me says a hell of a lot more than the pathetic transfer window we're currently involved in. Lest we forget we signed more players last year than we have this! The sheep are happy though.

They will regret not strengthening certain areas eg defence and attack as well as having a powder puff small midfield. By January we could be well in the lower half and who will want to join then.

Mowatt In As Perez Stays

But could Alan Pardew return to Newcastle for Paul Dummett?

Reports in the Mirror say Steve McClaren is keen on making a late move for Leeds' Mowatt, who has also been linked with plenty of other Premier League clubs including Aston Villa and Everton.

Probably nonsense they have had plenty of time to bring players in. Just a smokescreen for no more in comings.we will shortly be devoid of any strikers due to suspension and injury.
If we also lose Colo or Taylor through injury we will be back where we were last year.
The priority this transfer window was a quality experienced central defender and an out and out proven striker. Neither has been forthcoming, end result a struggle

McClaren is on record as saying he's happy with the squad he's got. Any purchases at this stage would indicate otherwise. We're still woefully short of decent defenders & also light up front.
£150 mil spend, don't make me laugh, that spend THIS window would have been what 'we' were due & could/should have seen us 'safe'.
Now it's wait for a few injuries to kick in, Colos lengthy New Year sabbatical and struggle we will. They really are a bunch of chancers.
Didn't McClaren say "let's judge after 10 games"... Lets see then.

We have still retained plenty off dross, Obertan, Williamson and Gouffran to name three.
I think they have hedged their bets and kept them as backup because they have not don't the business's that wisely. Will come back to bite them and will not belong before players they supposedly wanted rid of are back in the picture particularly in cup games.
Lot of reliance on injury and suspension free first half of the season and new recruits doing the business. Membranes looks promising, Wijlnadum and Thauvin come with reputations for quality and Mitrovich, the jury's out. To ey might be a surprise package. We shall see

There has been no hedging of bets. There were simply no bets placed. We're blatantly under strength. We've actually only signed four players, we signed more last summer (Perez, Colback, De Jong, Cabella, Riviere, Janmaat, Ferreya with Lascelles and Darlow also being signed but loaned back) with several leaving (Jonas, Raylor, Cabella, Sameobi, Armstrong, Ferguson, Abeid, Vukic and Kemen).

Our first 11 may be stronger but our squad is appallingly weak.
