Random quote: Platinii - I would prefer a coffee table at left back instead of Perch. I doubt even a coffee table could lose the ball twice in one move.

So 1 goal and 3 assists on his full debut as opposed to Cabella's 1 goal and 2 assists in the whole of last season.
All be it against lower level opposition but you have to be in the right places to score against any opposition.
His 3 assists were quality.
Looks good with free kicks.
Could be the real deal, time will tell.

At last a player who can deliver a set piece and a corner. I liked the cut of his jib and Mitro's going to thrive on those quality balls into the box.

Liked the look of him too Vin,seems to have a decent turn of pace as well, probably too much to hope he has a rocket of a left foot like Laurent Robert.

Yep, certainly looked to have a good game. Here's hoping he proves his YouTube clips completely wrong and is actually quite good. I'll reserve judgement until he plays a proper team though.

I watched his youtube montage of last season and thought he looked quite good

Totally left footed but looked ok on either wing...good delivery on his crosses and an eye for goal

I also thought he looked a lot more like a Premier League player than a lot of the crap we've been buying lately

still early days obviously but I reckon this ones closer to the real deal

Bloody hell Laz the mention of Robert (am I the only one that says Robert with a faux French accent?) brings back a surge of emotions, whenever that fecker got the ball I was expecting miracles, occasionally I was rewarded.

Canny, well-balanced player. Given time on the ball, he'll deliver. Typical SDU buy, talent - yes. Can it survive the Premier League? Who knows - Could make a killing!!

There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that this is exactly what will happen if Thauvin proves his class hb.

I don't see the point in getting excited at the prospect of Ashley making a profit.

Sorry, Piemag. I was being ironic. It's because, like you I know that is exactly what will happen. I do not celebrate Ashley's profit from football any more than I would buy from his stinking shop. In the past, you have urged me to brevity. Now you want me to leave out my sense of humour. you're a harsh man, Piemag.

I hope you are being ironic now hb as I was actually agreeing with what I thought your points were.

Specifically that he is a typical sdu buy and there will be a killing made by Ashley.

Anyway, he's French. SDU are playing Arsenal on Saturday. If he impresses Wenger he could be on his way by teatime. And Ashley will have made a few bob more.

does it not annoy anyone else the way after 1 good game though the chronicle has rolled out about half a dozen stories with...

<<insert player name here>> thinks newcastle have signed a great player in Thauvin!!!

i've read it with Mitrovic, Haidara, Cabella (who deosn't even play for us anymore) and coloccini all after the Northampton win. The chronicle then have waited until the northampton win to now spread stories like we have a 3 window transfer window plan, it just winds me up

To be fair, I might look good against Northampton. Let's see how he performs against a Champions League team. I'm actually going to the game on Saturday but I'm proud to say that I haven't given Ashley one penny in the process.

The Chronicle are a bunch of cunts, Lee Ryder especially. It has been confirmed by one of their reporters that they're in the back pocket of the club and won't print the truth with regards to SDU due to fear of bans etc. Positive stuff only. I highlighted this to them and I got banned.

yeah but sureley that shit doesn't work - people aren't that stupid to be be brainwashed by 2 bit stories by Lee Ryder (the self proclaimed expert, I mean how arrogant do you have to be to post videos of your opinions on whats wrong with the squad, tactics etc).

Tossers and morons the lot of them - I actually hate the chronicle as much as the regime to be honest - in some ways more.

100% mate. They're a disgrace but all you need to do is look on Facebook and the idiots flock and think we're Barcelona now after a hard fought draw against a shambolic Man Utd.

Loads of people have been banned now due to Ryder's videos. The comments are hilarious but he obviously can't take the heat.
