Just because he says he would want to get the UK out of NATO doesn't mean it would happen. Which MP's would vote for that.He cant do it on his own. His own deputy labour leader has already stated he would oppose the leaving of NATO and the Nuclear Deterrent.

Dont worry mate its another 5 years of these Tory cunts destroying the country before this Corbyn gets a chance.

I reckon Putin could be one of the most corrupt, evil cunts this world has seen in the past 50 years so I'll acknowledge my disagreement with your last statement.

I'm no apologist for Putin - the man's the biggest threat to global stability out there.

However - he's clever. He plays the long game and seems to have ended up with an autocracy. A shitty and violent one, but still a nation built quite literally on his own image.

NATO will become nonviable without Britain. Even if our conventional arms are limited and most definitely demoralized, they tend to have a habit of getting things done one way or another. Having a ludicrously expensive Armageddon machine that's never been used however - simply pointless.

Let's just build a Doomsday Device instead!

Wilco how many wars have America been involved in they could start a fight in an empty room. And the UK are Americas lap dog its about time the UK told them to fuck off. Look at the wasted money and the lives lost on pointless wars. Exactly where were Saddam's WOMD and why the hell were the UK fighting in Afghanistan.

You have cunts like Woppy who think its worth wasting Billions on something that would never ever be used in Nuclear Arms.

I'd draw the line at lapdog - I think that's not really the issue, although yes the US has a poor record when taking allied forces into battle. Ask any Aussie their opinions of Vietnam for example.

Regarding NATO people tend to forget the entire point why it was set up in the first place. Geography. The UK has absolute control over the Channel, access to the Med and also an entire Commonwealth to call upon. Those were quite important back in the day. There was once upon a time even Suez. In the 40s that was quite an impressive haul for a country smashed to hell through war (by our standards at the least).

Now, 70 odd years later, we're somehow obliged to buy 'off the shelf' rockets and warheads from the US, at huge expense, and almost every penny goes to the US nuclear sector. All for what is essentially pointless procurement born of our fathers generation.

I'd much rather we didn't do that, and the potential benefit to the nation is huge.

No I just think it's prudent to be able to defend yourself against threats at home and abroad, if the USA and Britain didn't have nuclear weapons Russia would have used there nukes years ago!
You are the type of idiot that thinks we live in a hand holding world made of rainbows and unicorns that Corbyn thinks we would have if we got rid of the nukes, left NATO and opened the doors to anyone that wants to come in, you go ahead and bury your head in the sand I hope it doesn't get cut off you prick!!!

If you don't understand why we were in Afghanistan then you truly are a fucking idiot

They reckon it would cost £100 billion to replace Trident that is inclusive of its up keep over 40 years. They reckon Tony Blair admitted that they only reason for replacing Trident was to give Britain status.

I will agree that trident doesn't need replaced, it is still serviceable and upgradable for the next 20 years which will cost a hell of a lot less than replacing it and then we still have the nuclear deterrent.

What NATO really ought to have done all those years ago was configure a UK/French led fleet and nuclear deterrent. Now we don't need them - and are under absolutely no nuclear threat - scrap them.

p.s - they reckon Japan could fling together a nuke in just shy of three days if they 'needed' to. Thermo's take a month. The tricky bit is the rocketry and delivery.

Did you not read what I put???? His economic views are also troubling, the people's quantative easing isn't great and I have no idea how he is going to afford renationalising rail, power and PFI( theres your £100bn gone) the maximum wage idea could also be disastrous. His education policy is also quite worrying, a National Education Service modelled on the NHS? Back to centralised education and giving control back to lacklustre Local Education Authorities is a horrible idea.

The only people who would use Nuclear Weapons are those knackers ISIS and places like Iran who would blow Israel to bits if they got the chance. Do people really believe the likes of America/Russia would bomb each other of course they wouldn't as it would be the end of the world.

Why waste billions on something that will never happen.

The bombs dropped upon Japan in 1945 were the equivalent of 20 000 tonnes of TNT. A modern warhead has more that one million. Also each missile has typically 8+ warheads.

I think BillyBob is pretty accurate in saying that strategic nuclear weapons would be utterly insane for either the US or Russia to ever deploy. Hence, it'll never happen.

You mean like terrorists would never be able to hijack 4 aircraft and crash them into the WTC and blow up London Underground and buses.
Never say never
I agree that ISIS, Iran and North Korea are the dangers when it comes to nukes or dirty bombs, but I have always been of the opinion of a like for like response if they hit us we hit them back harder, if we have no nukes what do we do smile back at them?

I do agree that it's very unlikely that Russia would use nuclear weapons but you never know with Putin (on 9/11 The USA went to defcon3 and instead of Putin matching the alert state he told the Russian troops to stand down) if something like that happend now there is no way he would do the same thing he would more likely take advantage of it.

The amount of money it must be costing Russia/America to just keep on top of all their Nuclear Arms must be frightening. I just don't see why this country needs to upgrade or renew its Nuclear Weaponry just to show face towards other countries. Why not spend some of that money on keeping and employing more soldiers instead of getting shot of them in their thousands.

TBH I don't think the U.S. had any other choice but to use nuclear weapons on Japan, if they didn't the consensus was that the war would have lasted 5 more years to take the Japanese home islands and would have cost 100,000s more allied and Japanese lives, it was thought it was the lesser of 2 evils. The U.S. had the chance to end the Korean War early by using nukes but choose not too ( gen MacArthur was sacked over it)

The Tories treat soldiers like second class citizens its a crying shame seeing some of the ex soldiers who have problems being left to rot and get on with it, but they will help their mates out in the banking sector who fucked the country up in the first place.

Look at the Tory cabinet most of them are millionaires and in the case of Osborne/Hunt multimillionaires who wouldn't know what its like to have hardship.

Yes i bet nowadays every last one of MP's are in it for themselves and especially once their duties as an MP are over. Look at Blair for Christ sake he is making a fortune he has made over £58m and has property worth over £20m since leaving in 2007, no doubt made from the people who he helped while PM.

How is he a genuine alternative. It's easy to come out with a load of rhetoric but to back it up with sensible affordable policies is another matter. All you will get is a series of disruption and strikes that will plough the country back into an even bigger mess. People are walking blindfold over the cliff backing this man.
Look at his shadow cabinet full of has beans or never will bes with a strong left leaning.

He can back it up, try reading what he actually says, or do some reading on economic theory that doesn't come from the pages of The Daily Mail.

Let's start with the minimum (living) wage which is due to be introduced in April. If workers don't earn enough to live on then why should it be the responsibility of the government to prop up that company? It is not the responsibility of the tax payer to subsidise private enterprise. It's really quite simple. If you can't afford to pay the wages, then you don't employ people. Your "business" plan is flawed if it does not take account of the wage bill. We've propped up shady employers for too long. It's time for them to stand on their own two feet, or fold. They can afford to pay proper wages, and if they can't then they have no right to be in business in the first place.

I look forward to seeing a Corbyn victory in 2020, and I think we'll find the rest of the country agreeing in overwhelming numbers. Those who disagree with Corbyn are welcome to do so, but please put a coherent argument, rather than something you read in the right wing tabloid press.

I dare say you'll be backing him in 2020 though Owl. You changed your mind on Ashley often enough, so you have form for flip flopping. Woppy, you are simply a fucking idiot. There's little hope for you. Do yourself a favour, and plug yourself into the mains or something.

At the risk of being ageist, won't he realisitcally be too old to be PM IF Labour win the next general election?

See how bad Blair (44) and Cameron (43) aged since becoming PM, Corbyn will be 71 for christ's sake. It's human nature to start slowing down at this age it's not the age to take on the most important job in the country. If he see's out a term he'll be 76
