Well everything I've heard or read says he's an underachieving mentalist. So I'd say that's a risk .

The club spending cash is better than being wasted down at Aspers, so id prefer this risk.

But why not pay for proven players with premier league experience. why pay over the odds on players with zero premier league experience.Sums up Newcastle to a tee.

Because they are looking young players with resale value. No intention of building a team and challenging for honours despite what the fat prick will have you believe. He's just filling the shop window with shiny new goods in the hope Carr finds him a couple of rough diamonds.

At least the lad won' be burdened by high expectations because he's been written off by quite a few already, journalists and fans alike.

Maybe so but he is risking a lot of money on players who could be shit. Their resale value could plummet if they don't do well. I would have thought going for players already in this league would have been better than taking a punt on players with no premier league experience.

English players are overpriced and overrated. Most of them think they've made it before their potential isn't realised.

Just need to look at he likes of Nile Ranger as an example to keep away and I expect the same trend to continue with the likes of Stirling proving crap value.

I know YouTube clips can be very deceiving but I've watched a few of this guy and he looks absolutely quality. We are playing in the Conference, right?

He's like a shit version of Obertan.

A very good point that is difficult to argue against.

When you take the cabella deal into consideration however ......

The list of decent English players to go after is still very short. Well, ones within our budget anyway.

Sad to see the 'decline' of Ben Arfa after leaving here. He really should have worked on his defending....

This from a little earlier........

Brilliant.

I bet his call up to the french squad won't be far off.

Superb goal that mind. Still would've been one of the best players in this threadbare squad.

It's always mystified me how he beats so many men by dribbling in a relatively straight line
