2-0 down after 17 mins. Glad to know all those wankers will be upset after thinking one signing turned SDU into Barca.

With Williamson and lascelles in defence, a poor midfield and attack, result 2-1 defeat highlights weakness of squad, early days but signings needed urgently. Not 1 or 2 but 4 or 5.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if McClaren can't see we need urgent replacements for championship defenders Taylor and Williamson then we've got big problems.

From the highlights I saw, it still looked half hearted, so no reflection of our capability. That said, we're still a minimum of 3 - 5 players light.

Doesn't matter how good a coach you are you aren't going to make Taylor or Williamson any better at their stage of their careers. Lascelles and Dummett may have a chance but we desperately need two need centre backs as Colo is long past it as well. Same old problems as last season - can't defend, no creativity and no goal threat.

the clubs fucked lads until fatty goes. people can wish as much as they like regarding the team doing better than before but the fact remains until the owner is gone the clubs going nowhere but down.

Newcastle's reputation once under Keegan was exciting football and mixing it with the big boys those days are gone for good. We should class the Keegan years as our cup wins because its as close as this fucking club will get in winning anything.

Looked like a training session but our defence is crap which McClaren hopefully recognises.
Nothing on the bench defensively apart from Ferguson shows what a mess we are in.
McClaren spinning thecompany line about being surprised how good the squad is. It's not and its well short of numbers and quality with several injury suspects Aarons, De Jong, Cisse to name a few.
Plenty of deadwood to be shipped out as well, Williamson, Gouffron, Rivière to name a few.
