At £13 million plus add ons and 100 grand a week for a 30 year old, even Man City would turn their nose up at that.

Good player but as toony says £100k pw for someone his age and if its true £13m, Palace aren't going to have much sell on value.

Its nice that him and Debuchy will be neighbors again, as for Pardew i will happily bet you any amount you like Ben that he will be sacked by Palace before the end of next season he is fucking useless.

Not worth the money at his age and has gone off the boil in France.
We saw his best times. Better younger players around.
Pardew will further push him on the downward slope no doubt after initially looking a decent buy.

Very over rated player Cabaye. He played some good games for us, but a lot where he did nothing. Not fit to lace (for example) Rob Lee's boots.

Agree CTM, only really pulled his finger out when a move was dangled in front of him, now financially secure, so why not play for small team in the principality....

A lot of shite being said here, a class player, instrumental in our good run of form as was obvious when he left, can't wait for the riot again mind.

Cant see how its shite mind PK, he only showed his real worth, and tried, when a move was dangled under his nose, that is plain for all to see, before that 6 months, how often did he go missing.

He may be class, but compared to the dross we have had, Billy Whitehurst would look brill!!!

Good player but has not done much since he moved and apparently is a red card waiting to happen with wreck less challenges. Whether he is good value now is debatable not rubbish.

He's a canny player but he only played when it suited him. The fact there's only Palace after him tells you all you need to know. Never really been good enough for a top four team and struggled to get into PSG team for most of his stay. He looked good in our team when we played 4-3-3 and we had Cisse, Ba, Ben Arfa, Tiote and himself at the top of their games.

Better than anything we currently have in midfield. Knows the English game and has thrived at a middling club (us) looking the star of the show at times. As others have said though, not at that money and wages.

Payday bunny, that one. Talented, yes, but with his eyes on his bank balance. Fair enough. Didn't realise Palace had that sort of money to waste. He's certainly no value for money, but, hey, that probably just shows Palace have loftier ideas than SDU.

Good player and miles better than anything we have at the minute. He left because he was ambitious and didn't want to play alongside Anita, Ameobi, Taylor, Williamson et al.

I think he left because he wanted better money but he must have known he wasn't going to be in PSGs plans. Ambitious maybe at a push considering where he was playing but money seems to be his main reason. Going to Palace proves he is money orientated because they will win nowt then again either will Newcastle.

Believe he's better than anything we've got or that he left because of ambition, or both?

He's a class player and no decent player will come to this club for anything other than money. Do you really believe that Janmatt is here because he loves the annual relegation battle?

People saying he is overated don't understand football, we sold him to PSG when we were about 6th and challenging for a champions league spot, we promptly tumbled down the league after that. The year we came 16th he was injured a lot, no coincidence when he played and was fit we were pretty much always in the top 6.

Will have a gret season at Palace, keep his place for France, then get a move to a top 4-6 team next season, bookmark this.

He will start off well but will not maintain it and no way will top teams be after him as they were not this time.
Good player but that's it. We may well buy a better midfielder yet.

Arent you the same person that rated Pardew, so id take what you say with a very big pinch of salt. Cabaye simply going to Palace tells people he is only after the money, he doesn't have ambition. If he were that good a player why is it only Palace in for him.

You say he will get a move to a top 4-6 team next season if he is as good as you say he is why aren't clubs going for him now not waiting?.

He is a good player otherwise PSG wouldn't have gone for him but he isn't as good as your making him out to be because as ive stated only Palace were in for him.

He's a class player but at the same time probably isn't good enough to replace anyone in the top 5 or 6 teams in the Premiership. Most of those teams already have top quality players in the centre midfield positions. It's clear that if Cabaye goes to Palace it's about securing a place in the France squad for European Championships. I'm sure he's getting very well paid at PSG for sitting on the bench.

There is no doubt I'd have him back at nufc in a flash but he doesn't fit into ashleys recruitment model.

Even if Pardew was still here we wouldn't have gone for him.

Great signing for Palace, not sure how well they'll do this season after the initial good form when Pardew came on board.

Would have to have question why any of the bigger sides wouldn't have parted with 10 million for a french international...going to have to have a hell of a season to get a move to a top 6 club.

Yes buddy, I was the one that said Pardew was nowhere near as bad as people made out and that when he left we would end up with someone even worse and plummet down the league, which is exactly what happenned with Carver. What were you saying about that salt again?

Plenty of nufc fans left looking very silly last season when they hounded Pardew out, Cabaye obviosuly agrees to and rates Pardew aswell don't ya think?

Sorry Banjo, I was being ironic. Mind you, I don't see Palace doing all that well. This signing is going to be their fanfare... And, according to the BBC, the ink is now dry. Now, Pardew rates him so he'll get games. Initially, he'll play really well - Then he'll notice the donkeys that he's playing with and start to lose interest, but he'll still pick up the cash.

this now proves to me that he wasn't on strike and that pardew was told not to play him incase an offer came in from PSG otherwise why would a manager re-sign a player that wouldn't play for him and went on strike to "get a move"?

I've never believed that he went on strike. Yes, he wanted a move but no problem with having ambition. Cabaye was kept out to protect him from injury and then made a scape goat for this corrupt regime, again.

Course Pardew told him not to play, it would have affected Pardew's cut of the transfer fee, if an injury occurred.

Something behind the scenes must have happened in regards to transfer promises in order for things to change, unless the deal was already agreed in the Summer.

The fans you talk about were completely over the top about him though,it was comedy gold watching them turn on Carver whilst Pardew helped Palace climb the league.
