TNMW that won't happen though as the ex ST holders were only going as they had already bought their tickets. Why would people buy single tickets knowing we are in for another home humping? Unless we start playing well and winning matches, we are in for half Empty grounds every week. Bring it on.

I agree. Which is why the club will be forced into doing things they don't really want to.

People can try and kid themselves about the popularity of this board being directly related to Ashley's tenure, but that's all it is, people kidding themselves.

The reality is, the regular posters just keep beating the same old tired drum and it becomes boring, so others fuck off because they can't be arsed reading or replying to anything.

Ashley's a cunt, Charnley's a cunt, Carr's a cunt, Pardew's still a cunt, Moncur and Beardsley are cunts, and anyone who goes to the game are sheep (and cunts).

That's all they have to offer, why would anyone with a broader mind hang around to discuss anything with these people?

That's fair point Eaststand because it reflects thoughts that ive had at various points, although in theory, the whole subject of NUFC attracts nowt but negativity nowadays as it's how the fanbase has been moulded.

The fanbase of NUFC hasn't been moulded, TNMW. They are intelligent enough to make their own minds up about things.

Your fanbase on here, I'm not so sure. In general a bunch of wannabe fans who claim to be oh so hurting at the current situation but who never actually went in the first place.

It's been a pretty shite few years, I honestly thought the club had turned a corner when we signed Cabaye & Ba etc.. even Ben Arfa played his best football.

But ever since its just gone from bad to worse.. but as supporters we're all in it together. I get why most people have had enough. But for us on here we use the forum for matters related to the club and just general chit chat.. over the last few weeks it's just been dead. Even the thread regarding Carver being sacked or even McClaren getting the job had little participation.

It's not merely a sign of the times as other forums are doing ok. But I have no intention of jumping ship, just to open a discussion about bringing here back to it's better days.

Maybe the negativity is preventing people from either logging in or joining up.. I really don't know.

We may never have the club being run as it should be, but there's no reason why we can't have a cracking forum to discuss it. And if we don't take a collective responsibility it won't get any better. It shouldn't all be on one person to keep things ticking over.

I cant speak for a fair majority but ive been to games with about 10 people from here over the years at various times, so can vouch for them, a fair few of the others speak of former times that i can reflect with, so can associate that as to having been attendees from that.

As for it just being this forum or forums in general, the atmosphere at the match from my point of view of having attended for a number of years until a certain point last season, was the worst ive ever experienced with apathy reigning throughout.

The in-fighting amongst the crowd or split in it being things that I never thought possible.

It's hard though. It's not just any club, for many what happens with the club is what's happening with their lives.

I can also slightly understand why they take an ignorance is bliss standpoint, although I wouldn't subscribe to it.

I just miss the days when the main talking points were the players on the pitch and the tactics that were being used. Because topics like that have a pure subjective point of view where everyone has a differing valid opinion.

Perhaps having a separate sub forum for matters off the pitch could be an idea?

We've tried various ideas including that one but the main forum generally sees the action anyway. Apart from that, it's off-season, so the football is generally second best.

Or maybe a curtailing of Mike Ashley rants until he does something again. Which shouldn't be long given his track record! ??

Those that are intelligent Easty have realised that Ashley cares about himself and only himself and his own avarice. That's been proven many times. So there's not much point in pretending otherwise.

I do agree that those with differing viewpoints, or those that still attend are driven away however with arguments that get too personal. We should still discuss football as I guess it's a football board first and foremost. The other point there of course is that a reasoned argument as to why they should stop away is always more likely to succeed than a mouthful of abuse.

And finally, with the possible exception of Carr, all the people you mention above, are indeed cunts.

That was my point, Manx. I can't speak for everyone but i'm pretty sure a large majority of the 50k who still go are just as aware that Ashley cares about himself and only himself.

I just disagree with this contrived idea that those who still go have been moulded and brainwashed by the regime and happily skip to each game, hand in hand, thinking Ashley is ok. They don't.

Ok east stand so we are agreed that those still attending don't deserve a mouthful of abuse for attending I.e. Whattheyvedone for x years. That is admittedly a big rut to get anyone out of. It's some peoples' whole lives for Christ's sake. But if they really do love the Toon, as they claim to, they should ask themselves, is it in the long term interests of the club they clam to support, to continue attending?

Or is it more of a personal Thing?

Ive never had any issues with people that avoid the politics and go to watch the team play but when things are bad, it's those people who can make a difference by airing their discontent. It's when they dont or try to tart things up as something it's not that grinds the gears.

Also those that go and aren't arsed either way what happens to the club with their emotions tied up in whatever social network device is in their possession taking higher priority.

I agree that those who still attend don't deserve to be spat at. Beneath contempt.

I remember being spat at in 1989, despicable low lifes, it's a game of football ffs.

Everyone knows it isn't in the long term interest of the club to keep going under Ashley, that's my whole point. We know that, we just don't need people who have never been regulars at SJP being all self rightious about it.

That's right, solipsism purported as a collective objective has only one outcome, fracture. Though that shouldn't equate to giving up the ghost.

The club will have a brighter day at some point. I'm only pissed off because I really don't want to be an old man by the time it happens.

I wouldn't criticise anyone for attending, what I would though is for the ones who went to some of the worst performances last season and just sat there like Zombies and probably clapped the team off. Are they just born fucking dim or something.

It costs me a lot to get to a game so my main reason now is that I just couldn't be arsed turning up to watch that shit. The mood of the city is different too when times are good. I want my whole night or weekend to be worth it. And it just wouldn't happen at the moment on last few years evidence.

Was out and about today and seen a bloke with the new strip on alongside his kids. £150 in the fat cunt's back pocket without a care in the world. People like that deserve all the shit they get. What an example to set to your children. Even worse than the cowards in the ground.

Kids aren't gonna fathom what's going on so that's an unfair judgement. Plus you have no idea about that guys family background.

My point is that you can't group everyone that attends matches or who buy the strip in the same category. Everyone's choice is individual.

I simply just wouldn't wear a shirt that had Wonga written on it, plus it's a rather disgusting design. I still have my grandad collar shirt from the 95/96 season and it's still in great condition. Also had the northern rock one from a few years ago, which was ok.

Refused to wear the NTL one, another cuntish company. It's all swings and roundabouts really with our sponsors.

I would never condone spitting on anyone and while i would love to see a full boycott i know that its not going to happen, what i would like to see is those that do go would make their voices heard in relation to ashley and what he is doing to NUFC. The atmosphere seems to be non existent these days (granted i am basing this on what i hear in my armchair and what i am told by those that do go), we know that Ashley doesn't like being abused but it seems those that do go are just resigned to being screwed by the fat man.

Perhaps the delay is down to the construction of a giant catapult for Mike Williamson.

The club are finally being linked with defenders over the weekend. We're far worse there than going forward, could see Colo being loaned out for his final year if whoever it is he goes to pays his wages in full.

Ashley Cole linked with a free transfer, at 34 perhaps he has one decent season left in him. Didn't play much for Roma.

And a few German defenders, one playing for Wolfsburg and the other for Schalke, and some chap playing for Monaco who is rated at 20 million.. so that would be a non starter i guess.

We've announced deals in previous seasons in June but another factor could be when the season technical ends and starts for the financials.

Im not sure what that really means for the accounts but there must be some sort of advantage somewhere.

Pocketing it and pretending the running costs have risen for one.

We haven't even got any fucking coaches let alone new players. I'm fully expecting the dross from last season to turn up to pre-season with a note on the changing room door saying 'right lads, do 4 laps of the pitch and then have a kick-about for an hour. Colo and Clogger to pick teams one player each in turn. Seeing as we fucked Jonas off we have odd numbers so Clogger gets rush keeper.'
