Can you believe they are drawing up a short list and meticulously going through the candidates but no hurry.
You would have thought they had someone lined up after months of Carver but oh no they haven't.
It's a pantomime with Harry hill Charnley as the indecision maker.
Does not augur well does it.
Carver being retained in some capacity, hopefully ball boy.

The sooner people come to terms with carver
Getting the job the easier it will be for them.
Fat chops ain't going to change the way he runs HIS
Club in a million years. I for one didn't believe a single
Word that came from his mouth. Proven liars! Remember??

Agree.
Guardian saying no imminent appointment, will take a few weeks. Hope to have someone in place by the time the players return for training. Carver to be considered By Chumpley.
We have been sold down the river once again. Nothing will change except the playing staff. Same inept clueless coaches. It was always on the cards once Ashley said the disastrous trebly Chumpley was in charge of recruitment. They have not learned their lesson.expect more Carver waffling and more we are in good hands.
Carver and Charnley would not get jobs elsewhere and they are heavily endorsed by Ryder.

Ashley will end up a chat show host the amount of times he's going to have to 'speak' to the fans. Call it An Evening with Billy Bullshitter. David Craig can be the comic relief/crawling arse limpet....

In January they had 81 applications or so they say for the job. Now they don't want to be rushed?

Ashleys promise already smelling of shite.

We all know carver has the job nailed yet Lee Ryder neither quotes a club member nor explains why he wrote this article without any questions being asked.

Corrupt indeed.

Same old bullshit from the Club and Chronicle. Perfect pairing.

This must have been said a thousand times before, but can anyone really believe that an organisation with the turnover of NUFC is run in such an incompetent fashion.
It really does beggar belief.

What people need to remember is that apart from the bullshit, the club is riddled with propaganda.

The decision over the new boss is no doubt already made with more than likely only 2 or 3 people in mind.

First choice would obviously be Carver as it doesn't upset the applecart plus the staff can stay here untouched thus saving millions in compensation but the feedback to the club has been a dangerous one and dependent on the poisonous atmosphere , it has determined the number 2 choice coming in which was obviously McClaren.

The fact that McClaren has turned the job down twice and at a time where we were in serious danger means that the ball is out of his court now plus with stories that Ashley doesn't take lightly to be rejected, it then moves us onto a fight between Carver and our final choice.

This 3rd choice is the unknown one, mentioned on umpteen occasions. The propaganda brigade have edged towards this scenario with a new coaching set up, which if it happened would be accepted by many, moreso as the uncertainty drags on.

The name may not be that big but with an outcry over Carver and a growing unease over the Summer, will probably already be in place to start at the end of June.

We can speculate over the name and i'll hoy mine in the ring with either Jocelyn Gourvennec or Glen Hoddle.

If Carvers in the frame it just proves how ridiculous the process is. Derby and Watford have both jettisoned their managers but hope to have a new manager in by the end of the week. Penfold is too busy making shortlists. The bloke is so far out of his depth it's embarrassing.

It's plain and simple stalling tactics, nowt to do with being inexperienced, clueless or other. It's part of a thought out plan. It will only be for 1 of 3 reasons.

Either in order to save money by playing their usual game of not being able to get the right bloke over the line and sticking with Carver because he's a trusted pair of hands, willing to work under the regime's conditions.

Ashley really has had a change of heart and they're now redrafting shortlists up from scratch with a better pedigree than Joe Bloggs, although we can discredit this for now.

or, for maximum effect, allow a negative vibe to build up until it gets at mutiny levels before wheeling out the change that was sorted days/weeks earlier.

I beg to differ. I just think Penfold is clueless and way out of his depth. He's also got added pressure now that Ashley has said that the appointment of the new manager rests on his head.

Still drawing up a shortlist of candidates even though we haven't had a manager since January is just laughable. Surely when Carver was losing game after game alarm bells were ringing??? Clearly not! They're even considering offering him the job full time!! It's as simple as this, get a quality manager in give him the £100m that is required and let him get on with it. Then every year give him another £30m to refresh the team and progress. Ticket sales will rocket, merchandise sales will soar and everyone will be fighting together for success. We might even attract some decent sponsors and I'll be able to buy my son a NUFC shirt once again.

They'll do anything to save on a months wages for someone.

I have no doubt at all it'll be McLaren. The fact hes now out of work means no compensation and the abiity to offer him a basic wage for pennys a la Pardew.

I agree, McClaren, whether or not he'll be allowed to bring his own coaching staff is debatable, I just want to see the back of them hapless coaches on the bench.

I agree with Keegan,Laudrup would be the obvious choice and he should be instilled within the next 14 days then get straight onto player recruitment followed by getting the clubs dross list together for shipping them out.
Oh wait a minute what am I thinking about, that is the way a properly run club would do things.

I have no doubt you'll get an interview DLG, Charmless wont want to leave any stone unturned in his quest for someone who is the 'right fit'.
On the subject of 'right fit' make sure you take some lube with you, may as well start as we mean to go on.

I would like to know what Charnley has been doing each day since Sunday.
It seems to me crucial that they get somebody in as soon as possible.
This take your time backed by Ryder is bullshit. They know the candidates so interview and make a decision, it's not rocket science.
I suspect the interested parties, like the transfer targets, are less than enamoured with the set up.
No top class manager is likely to come. No big name transfer targets are likely to come.
Ings, Austin etc will go elsewhere.
So we are left with Maclaren and Carver as potential managers and foreign cheap players as incoming.
It's all too much foe chump Charnley, he does not like the limelight you know. Prefers to stand next to Mike grinning.

McClaren was supposedly spotted checking into a hotel in Durham last night which may or not be related to the NUFC job but with the media now reporting that talks are set to start, it's looking likely that he's incoming.

Personally speaking, it's a step up from Parsnip and Carvdew but without his own backroom staff in and no say on incoming, we may as well have Charnley and Ashley doing a multi-role as they'll no doubt have had some input in the past on team selection (ie, FA Cup)

I wonder how many if any will be interviewed.
If they don't get it right this time they won't be taken seriously.
An improvement on Carver but that's not saying much.
At least Maclaren is considered a good coach, which Carver certainly is not

I 'had' quite a bit of time for Maclaren, however, anyone that come here, knowing the all to obvious modus operandi, I have to question their principles.
Also regarding Macl' I have it on reasonably good authority that his 'attitude' lost the dressing room at Derby. Giving him the benefit of the doubt maybe his mind was elsewhere ie NUFC.
Still question why he'd come here though.
