He's gone permanently now with an obscene £2.8 million fee sorted.

This has all the signs of a fire sale with too much money needed to fluke another season in the top flight next year I reckon.

Certainly needs a fire sale.

The amount of players they need to sign would take a season to bed in. I'm sure next season will be a relegation struggle no matter how much they spend / or don't

It doesn't make sense to cash in on players when we're massively cash rich unless there's something behind it. It smacks of Ashley trying to get as much as he can before getting rid.

He even hoared out Sissoko, Tiote and wanted to sell Cisse during the last 2 windows.

I still don't see why there's a need to sell the club with the potential of even more TV money in 2016. The sheep seem to be quite happy meeting their mates for a pint and sitting to watch 90 minutes of shite in a morgue like atmosphere. It's not as though he's even getting any abuse - he may as well sit it out and cream 30m a season in.

However, 6 weeks is a long time in football, the right people can fix so many problems, with the right attitude and will.

Ive been thinking about it a fair bit recently but the increased TV deal benefits the club more than Ashley in theory.

Maybe we're at our most fruitful to sell now, maybe we're not but surely the extra revenue has to show up in the books and maybe there's no way for him to trouser it and a selling of our stock is the best way for him to guarantee cash before setting his price for the potential that we have.

He can't hide anything as the accounts need to be audited. The only unknown is the value of free advertising that Shite Direct get.

As for the TV money benefiting the club rather than Ashley. He is the club and owns every last brick as well as the 50,000 sheep who continue to pour money into his pocket.

No chance of him selling up he loves a gamble so why not gamble that you wont get relegated, and that there are 3 worse teams than you in the league every season. The club doesn't benefit only Ashley and his bank balance.

There's nothing behind the sale of Santon except money. I certainly don't see it as an indicator of anything in the offing. It simply a good time in Ashleys' eyes to sell ,£2.8 million fee plus the reduction in wage bill . Haidara will occupy the purple slot with a fit again Raylor or Dummett (once fit) providing cover . Ashley's just cashed in.

If he gambles and loses he has three seasons of parachute payments to get back into the game.

He can't lose unless people try and oust him.

Not going to happen, Newcastle's support are too thick and cowardly to raise a murmur.

How much do folk reckon ashley takes out of NUFC every season. Through free advertising and what have you.
Hard to put a finger on it. But roughly speaking.
I reckon between £20m-£30m that advertising is worth.

I reckon Ashley costs the club closer to £100 million in lost revenue per season.

Yes, the advertising may be £20 - £30 million but the crap attached to the club costs us a fortune in merchandising, corporate and other deals that would be created by any feel good factor.

All the daft cunts who buy Wonga shirts are giving the fat cunt a slice of money and as a club we seem to have a high proportion of grown men who like wearing replica kits sad because i always thought they were for kids.

Where is your proof viana? and how come since he has owned Newcastle United his SD brand has fucking sky-rocketed.I blame all this of SJH the old cunt KNEW what Ashley's intentions were from the start, yet he still sold it to him. Does that sound like a bloke who loves NUFC does it fuck it sounds like someone that was looking at the ££££££ signs fully aware what the fat cunt had in store for his supposedly beloved club.

None of this crap that our best times were under him that's in the past its only now that counts.

You've obviously missed the 'hard to put a price on it" and the 'roughly speaking' part of it.
So put an approximate price on it then.
I was throwing the £30m figure out there on the basis of lost commercial revenue.
Again as an estimate.
Do you think it's more?

One fat cunt has split a once great club in half, also managed to split a once proud region down the middle and sideways.
I take my hat of to the bloke, as I never thought it possible but this man is a genius with no morals whatsoever."
The only thing that will stop him is "TIME" we all on a clock and his don't bode well for living a long and fruitful life.

In one sense I agree but remember Watford are owned by Giampaolo Pozzo who's looking to adopt the same model he employed at Udinese (youngish players who will develop and be sold at a profit). Also Santon's lass is English they have a toddler and he never wanted to leave the U.K in the first place . Inter could demand up to 6/7 million and cash in .
