I'm liking this idea and would be up for going.

Totally agree about the lack of committee's, agenda's and leaders. This needs to just happen of its own accord. I'm not even sure we should be working to get 'ourselves' known by the bigger players. It should just be allowed to happen. If people are interested, they will come.

That's pretty much how I feel, Platini.

NUST have proven themselves to be worse than useless. We put a few ideas to them a few year back re buying shares in the club. We came up with a plan for owing a share as part of a club, or syndicate. They didn't even bother getting back to us on what was a carefully thought out plan.

The likes of Wraith will jump on any idea and claim it is their own. He's a publicity whore, and anything he touches is guaranteed to be shite.

Al we need to do is name the game, and let it grow. My guess is that it might take a season or two, but that's the best way to get anything going, from the bottom up, and with good roots. No leaders are required, and when they are required we'll hopefully have a good pool of people to draw upon.

Besides which we get to see a football match, in the company of like minded people, for £6 if we stick to Northern League.

i think this is one of the best protest ideas so far, the press wouldn't pick up on say for arguments sake 1000 people missing from newcastle home match but they would pick up on 1000 people turning up at a diffeent match all ckitted out in newcastle shirts.

I agree, NUST haven't covered themselves with glory but the email is in my inbox so if they want to get on board they can, I'm not pushing it though. I fully expect this to be OUR thing and hopefully people will follow. If it takes a couple of seasons then so be it and if people like Wraith hijack it and try and claim it as their idea then we will post the links to this thread and he will look stupid.

I'm looking forward to going to this game and I'm thinking of a system to decide which games to attend, even if its something simple as alphabetical order.

McCreery can I just ask why you won't be taking part?

I'm the same. I've got used to my Saturday's out on the piss devoid of the football and it's a much better day. However I wish you the best of luck. Unfortunately for me it's only ever been Newcastle or nothing. I really couldn't give a fuck about the rest of football.

You'll not feel like that once you've seen the mighty Shields take on Bay in a few weeks.

Football at that level is life affirming.

I've not felt like that in a while, accepted NUFC were shit and going nowhere. Looking forward to going to Shields in a few weeks.

We should get those Fuck off Ashley NUFC tops on eBay and wear those on our non league days.

I'll be dressed in the correct attire for the weather, as a gentleman should be.

Football tops?

Will anyone be wearing trainers? (I think that's what they are called)

I'm starting to have second thoughts ... :-)

I shall be wearing the appropriate attire for attending a football match depending on the weather. It will be unlikely I will be wearing my Whitley Bay top though ;)

couldn't agree more.

Some of the non-league games I've been at lately have been quite an experience. Certainly in comparison to watching a premier league game. Its a whole new ball game. As Sky used to say.

Best game I ever saw was a 4-4 draw between Brighton and Orient.

I'm pretty sure Brighton were 3-0 down at half time.

Apart from the game itself there was a lad ran on the pitch and punched Ray Wilkins, who was playing for Orient at the time. Had an awful lot of respect for Wilkins as he didn't make a meal of it, despite the bloke giving him a proper belt. If he had done there is every chance Brighton would have been in big bother, possible point loss, and out of the league.

I took my then girlfriend to the game, and she thought it was going to be like that every week.

Aye, it's of no interest because it's not the Boston Celtics vs Miami Dolphins.

It's not high profile enough to brag about on the Internet.

Thanks for the bump Eaststand.

Here's a quick quiz, and I'll give a prize to anyone who can give the right answer.

Name a single person that Eaststand gets on with on here, just one.

The usual trolls don't count, just name one person that doesn't think he is a cunt.

Somebody must have really hurt him, and it's my guess that it's a woman.

It wouldn't matter to me if I was the only one there.

It's always the same with the people who do nothing, they can't stand for anyone else to do anything either.

Eaststand is a failure as a human being. His bitterness shines through in every post he makes. Yet he appears (if he is to be believed) a successful man, with trips round the world, visits to top sporting events, and supposedly well off.

What exactly is it about this little protest that irks him so much?

OL, it amuses me that you think you know so much about me when you know next to nothing. You know what I choose to let people know, basically that i like travel and sport and get to do a bit of both. And from that you deduce that i'm a failure in life, which is ironic as we all know you really are a bit of a failure in life as you've done the borstal thing, you're a failed con in the adult world and i'd be surprised if you do anything more than a minimum wage paid job for a living now.

We know all this because you can't help yourself, mouthing off and continually acting the big i am on an internet messageboard, just like your mate, lil Chris, which is ironic as yesterday you were threatening someone with "a clip" for having a big trap.

I suspect, but i don't know, that you act like Billy big Bollocks on here to compensate for your failures in the real world, but then again, this is the real world to you, you spend every woken hour on here, and that tells its own story.
