I apologise for the delay in entering this thread.

Deepest condolences. The Chief was one of the first to welcome me back to this board after I had been gone awhile.

No need for apologies, we all still here which I would think he'd be happy with.

Yes but I have to say that banner is way too "funeral director" for my belief.

IMHO both these boys knew the score so the way they'd want to be remembered is through images of Banners, Scarves, Mental Crowds etc etc

When I go I'd want this site to have two almighty fingers up to the bastads who run this club.

Good point AMac.

I'm sure Toony will come up with something appropriate. At the end of the day, we can celebrate being part of their community, just as we have through the BowburnMag charity events. It just takes time to get the flavour right.

In all truth though, it's the same banner that's been there since BBM passed, albeit with a slight tweak in wording. It's intended to come across how it seems.

The events we do or will do have more than a message of celebration or joyousness about them.

It's been a difficult one to really talk about with The Chief but I hope that im not being disrespectful to his family, anyone that knows him personally or to you yourself Orca when I mention what im going to in the following words.

He died of a heart attack.

At 42 or thereabouts, no age to die from one but it followed a sad story.

A story of losing his dad at an early age which then caused depression and a need to drink alcohol to block out the pain. The alcohol caused various problems for his life and he battled on with this hidden (from us) until the end.

His weight apparently balooned due to the drink and contributed to his death.

A massive loss and one that we maybe could have helped with, maybe not but if any good can come from this then it may help anyone else in similar circumstances to deal with their pain by seeking the right help.

Regardless of his private life, he was a damn good poster and is a massive loss to me due to the hidden work he did with me in admin.

Again though, if ive upset anyone or have been in any way disrespectful to Neil then i'll delete this post.
