Been nosing around other forums and talking to a few mates who WERE Ashley supporters. Seems the general consensus is that Ashley has shot himself in the foot with this one like. For those Ashley supporters and those that were on the fence are starting to ask questions and changing opinions in a BIG way. I hope this time it can gather momentum and bring back the good old days when Ashley was shit scared to be seen in Newcastle

I'm not so sure, to walk away when your position has been undermined requires a backbone and dignity (For reference see Kevin keegan in 2008). Pardew has neither of these qualities. That said you may be right in the sense that Ashley will probably give him a handful of games next season and if he's not happy he'll pull the trigger. I have the odd feeling ashley is signing his own death warrant as much as pardew's here.

I reckon Ashley is trying to force a resignation from Pardew so he doesn't have to pay him anything. We all know he is a devious cunt, he is doing exactly the same to Pardew as he did with Hughton. The only difference is that I think Ashley thinks in his own head that he is doing the fans a favour as most of us wanted rid of Pardew anyway.

Cheers Bob, although I'll be honest it's probably the optimist in me talking with that particular feeling. In the hope that Ashley ditching pardew for kinnear might spur people into action.

UKrocks Ashley may well be trying to do that, if he thinks he's doing us a favour he's actually doing the reverse, as most of those who wanted pardew to stay, wanted him to stay because they feared JFK coming back if pardew went

It's all strange and suicidal as far as im concerned.

Pardew only gets one year's wedge anyway if he's sacked plus he supposedly gets a cut out of any transfer.

Well he wouldn't gain mine . Pardew's getting what's been coming to him for fronting for those liars for years . If he walks it'll be purely in his own self interest and he'll make a big song and dance along the lines of "I had to take a stand for the fans sake" . He's one of them whether he stays or goes.

It does give Pardew an "out" though with his southern reputation preserved. I just hope Kinnear can teach our new manager Roberto Mancini a thing or two.

I agree, trying to make sense out of the madness and thinking like Ashley. To me paying up 12 months of someone's contract doesn't seem like bad idea but for a tight cunt like Ashley, then doing something so devious to avoid paying it is EXACTLY the kind of thing the fat parasite would do.

I am no lover of Pardew and thought he should've been sacked but I did post on here that I was concerned who would replace him. I was thinking someone like Mark Hughes or Steve Bruce, never thought Ashley would be so stupid to ring Kinnear back - until now!! This to me stinks of a replacement for Pardew rather than a director of football position. Just a question of how log Ashley will give it before he realises Pardew won't resign and he will have to sack him! My bet is see where we are in January.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Kinnear said he hadn't spoken to pardew which suggests this has happened behind pardew's back. Pardew knowing he'll never get a bigger job than this will go along with it. Up to Ashley when he pulls the trigger. Question is, if Ashley's plan is for pardew to go and to replace him with JFK... how long before JFK has another coronary?

I reckon this whole thing is an Ashley decision.

Dekka got Pardew the job but Ashley wasn't impressed so has brought back his 'man' or idol from his Spurs days to oversee.

Maybe a little bit of tension between Ashley and Dekka, maybe not although any pressure from the fans needs to be constant, both in and out of the ground.

If it causes a relegation then so be it.

Can see it now.....First game of the season, thousands of Wonga shirts on Barrack road, all off to the game, sadly we don't do boycotts.

Aye it's strange we've never been that militant, I remember some rumblings under Mckeag and a few little bits anti Ashley but that's about it.

Your wrong on that one keggy there was regular protests against westwood the pirate and the fans were always vocal about sacking the board and he magpie group helped to get rid of mckeag and save the club, the fans have the power it's just no one can be bothered anymore, perhaps it's just to any distractions, life was simpler back in the 70's and 80's.

There's been some on here that have stuck to their guns, whilst some of us have given in to temptation, only to be shafted time after time. During this time, those of us who went, never took our eyes off the main problem and didn't once stick up for the regime like some fans are still doing now.

Football is a results based, ambition led institution but NUFC in it's current occupation have ruined the dream for everyone.

People need to wake up now to try and do something about this.

The problem we have is that there were alternatives to the likes of Mckeag that were more financially powerful than he was. We don't have that help now.

I keep playing different scenarios through my mind and I can't get over the fact he owns us outright and the club owes him (yes I know it's his money anyway) 120 million quid.
