This morning our loveable gobshite manager is advertising our players for sale.

"We're one of those clubs where we're liable to lose one of our great players to a Champions League team through finance and sometimes the will of the player,"

"You can't keep a player who doesn't want to stay.

"Having said that, it's going to be very difficult for any club to get a player out of here unless it's a serious or big bid."

This all looks awfully familiar. It's also lies. The 20th richest club in the world doesn't need to sell their players to anyone.

He couldn't make it more obvious that he's in line for a cut of any deal, if he came out and said it outright.

Even Redknapp isn't as obvious as this.

Sickening.

If this is going to be the official daily bullshit thread, can we keep all his summer utterances in this thread alone? It's because I want to avoid them in the main.

The idea though, that the club can actually profit from his shite management by selling the better players is pretty laughable. If we went shopping at Wigan for a player, we would expect to get him on the cheap, not pay top dollar, because he is part of a side that got relegated. So why is this a good time for this club to be selling its top players? I can understand us cashing in at the end of last season but not know. We'd make a loss on most of them.

As for the "better players", who has enhanced his reputation this season, such that we would get more for them now than what we paid for them? I am struggling. I am not a fan of Pardew at all, but it is so easy for players to hide behind that when we can probably look at some and say "you know what? You're not as good as some would have us believe".

If we hang on to Pardew, maybe we are going to build a player dynasty here. Or is that a "player dinnae stay"?

It smacks of desperation. I think they must surely know by now that last season was the time to do it, and our 5th place was a complete one off. There's no way they'll get anywhere near what these players are worth now.

Given Pardew's uncannny ability to turn a diamond into a worthless turd, Carr will have his work cut out finding a player on the planet whose value Pardew can't actually reduce after 3 months of his 'coaching'.

Plats, if the project for Ashley is to make money here, then he needs to have a serious look at it.

Martinez - he is definitely leaving Wigan, I watched his body language at the parade last night when the announcer asked the fans if they wanted him to stay.

What I find extra-ordinary here is that in Wigan, you have a manager who will feature in the summer merry-go-round, widely regarded as one destined for bigger and better things, a few of his players are being highly coveted yet his club has just been relegated, following many seasons of narrow avoidance. I know they won the cup, but even glorious failure there would not have changed the way manager and some players are regarded. Regardless of the downs, the general belief is that "little Wigan" have punched above their weight and the credit for that seems to be laid in the main at Martinez's door. The idea has developed such momentum now that even some of their "better players" are being swept along by it. Yet they got relegated. But "added value" seems clubs come a knocking. there is no added value at SJP, yet Pardew feels he has to come otu with stuff like this - it smacks of wishful thinking on his part. I think he is trying to talk up the value of his squad, and indirectly himself and "added value" he has put on it. Maybe it is not so much directed at other clubs but for his upcoming meetings with Ashley. There is no added value after this season.

I wonder if he plans any of it or just wings it? Given what comes out of his mouth it's clearly the latter.

I'm sure if he keeps his job (which I have no doubt he will) the "comprehensive review" will consist of Mike telling Pards to tone down the bollocks or at least keep it consistent.

"Tow the party line my son but for facks sake 'ave a think about what you're gonna say before you say it, you look a rank amateur"

WHAT???!

So what happened to last season's team?

No way are Liverpool a better team. Even their fraud of a manager has more clue about football than ours. Player for player we are definitely better, so it just shows you it's down to our 'manager'.

He really is a clueless cock of a man. Maybe he's in competition with Rodgers for idiotic statements of the day.

I still can't get over this one... What manager in his right mind would come out and say that rivals of a similar level are better than us, even with our best team out?

Where's the incentive for our players to even try?

He really does talk through his arse.
At the start of the season he said the aim was to continue the progress and finish in the top 5 again. Now he says even with our best team available we would have finished below Liverpool, who finished 7th.
The target was therefore to finish 8th at best. Contradiction after contradiction.
While we are about it his record in domestic cups needs looking at, its abysmal.

SAT 18TH MAY

“I’m going to be the third-longest serving manager at a Premier League club, which is really hard to believe. That’s how difficult the job is.

"Sometimes you need to have the faith of not just the owner but the supporters to give you the benefit of the doubt when you make mistakes, so you can put them right.

“I think I’ve proved since I’ve been here that I can reach the heights – and now I’ve got to reach them again. Next season will be very important for me and the club.

“In terms of some of the criticism I’ve received over the last few weeks, you could say, ‘Am I going to get off and run away?’ That’s a joke!

“I love the people in this area. I love the way I’ve been accepted and not just at the club. I want to do even better than I did last season.’’

........................................................................................

CHRONICLE SAME DAY (Pure Pardish)

“I think I’ve proved since I’ve been here that I can reach the heights and I’ve got to reach them again. Next year will be very important for the football club and me.

“I look at the team and genuinely think this has been a season when we have never really produced a period where we were last year.

“So we have to make sure that next year – with this season’s injuries in mind – we have got to get some continuity in the team and get some rhythm back. That’s what we’ve missed this season.

“You are never going to get that in the relegation zone. We will be looking for that next season.”

....................................................................................

QUOTE TAKEN FROM THE MAG....SUN 19TH MAY

“We’ve got very good young players and I think 80% of that team next year will do very well for us but they do need a lift, a bit of experience and a bit of quality.

We’ve got some great players here, it is key for us next year to keep everybody fit.

We were under strength to enter two competitions as we did, the Europa League on the Thursday night takes a lot of legs for the Sunday.”

 .....................................................................................

SUNDAY 19TH MAY ......NUFC TV INTERVIEW

I wanted to highlight the fact that we get fifty two thousand and we’d probably get fifty two thousand in the Championship but that doesn’t mean to say that we should just expect that.”

.....................................................................................

CHRONICLE 20TH MAY

“We still need to make sure we get two or three recruits in there which take us forward.

“If we can do that, they’ll grow as well, and we’ll be much, much better next year.”

“You hear managers taking about needing three players to make the perfect side, but we genuinely need a couple in the first team that complement the others.”

......................................................................................

HARTLEPOOL MAIL ...MON 20TH MAY

“We’ve had players missing in every game. In the first half, we were terrific.

“We played with a lot more composure, but we needed to score. We needed that first goal.

“They had one good little spell after half time and got a goal.

“It was always going to be difficult, but we gave a great account of ourselves.”

....................................................................................

TUESDAY 21ST MAY

"We looked a different side in the first half without the pressure on us, and the quality we showed in that half was terrific against a great Arsenal team, who were bang in form," he concluded.

"As much as we tried to get through them - and Hatem had some nice moments - ultimately we couldn't get through them. We lost the game but in honour really."

....................................................................................

TUESDAY 21ST OF MAY

"Next year we haven't got that pressure [European] and we can go week to week in the Premier league.

"But we are not foolish enough to think we don't have a couple of issues to sort out in the team - not major issues, but one or two players to add to offer us a different look"

I'm pretty confident I'll be the manager here. I love being the manager"

.......................................................................................

TUESDAY 21ST MAY......CHRONICLE

“We’re one of those clubs where we’re liable to lose one of our great players to a Champions League team through finance – and sometimes the will of the player.

“You can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to stay.

“Having said that, it’s going to be very difficult for any club to get a player out of here unless it’s a serious or big bid.”

.........................................................................................

WEDNESDAY 22ND MAY.........CHRONICLE

“We need to strengthen. Even with our best team out I think we would have finished below Liverpool.

“And we want to threaten them – so we need to improve.”

“It is a difficult league. We could have finished in the top 11.

“If you’d have said that at the start of the season, and getting to the last eight of the Europa League, you’d have said it was OK.

“It is just the way we got there was unsavoury, and some of the performances.”

“I genuinely think that without the Europa League our performances will be a lot stronger.”

...................................................................................

LMA AWARDS SHINDIG

“Our form dipped and confidence dipped with it and we lost momentum, that’s a dangerous thing to lose in the Premiership.

We managed, with the signings we did in January, to get it back on an even keel.”

........................................................................................

SATURDAY MAY 25TH........EXPRESS

“In our last 15 games, apart from the top six, we were the next best team.”

........................................................................................

FRIDAY 31ST OF MAY.............CHRONICLE

"I think the one who is knocking on the door is Adam Campbell, and I would like to think that he will be in and around the first team next year.

"He is only a tiny, little guy but a bundle of energy and a bundle of quality as well.

"I've been very careful to look after him this year, but if we can progress him, then next season is a big year for him."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MONDAY 8TH OF JULY    NUFC TV

“As the manager of this football club, which I am. I think it is very important that the fans and players know that I am managing this football team, that’s my contract and that is what I am going to do.

We’ve got a full Premier League campaign & two Cups and I think we’ve got the squad to have a really good season and hopefully we can improve on that squad too.

In the January window we strengthened the team to a degree that meant some players were surplus (Harper, Simpson, Perch etc.).

------------------------------------------------------------------

MONDAY 8TH OF JULY.........BBC

“It is quite simple really; for whatever reason something happened with Mike (Ashley) and Derek’s (Llambias) relationship.

It had broken down somewhat and I’m sad to see Derek go because I thought he did a great job for the club and I’ll miss him.

I hope that Joe (Kinnear) does as good a job as Derek, if not better, in terms of persuading Mike to get the players that I feel we need.”

 ------------------------------------------------------------------

 THURSDAY 11TH JULY.       THE CHRONICLE

“I feel we are in a strong position financially to hold on to our players.

“If one of our top players goes it will be a bid that blows the doors off. That’s it.”

“In terms of the big players, again we have not sold anybody. We have players under long-term contracts here. Hopefully we can add to that.”

“We are strong in some areas and weak in others.

“I think it would be nice to strengthen in some areas.

“The obvious target is a striker and we have four or five targets.

“It is difficult, because I know there is speculation, particularly about Darren Bent.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------

FRIDAY 12TH OF JULY            SHIELDS GAZETTE

"“You could argue that Moussa Sissoko needs to define a position,” Pardew told the Gazette.

“He needs to find a position and he needs to be in the first team.

“If he’s going to play behind the striker, then he needs a few more goals.

“If he’s going to play through the middle, then who comes out? Is it going to be Cheik Tiote or Yohan Cabaye?

“Or is he going to play on the side, where he played for France and Toulouse?”

With half a season in English football under his belt, Pardew feels Sissoko is ready to assert himself more in the Premier League over the coming campaign.

“He’s an important factor in this team,” he added. “His position evolves in our team.

“I think he is a terrific player, and I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him.”

 SAME DAY ...SHIELDS GAZETTE

“What we have to find is a defined way of playing.

“Sometimes that can go astray when confidence is low.
“It is going to be about our game-plan of how are we going to score and affect the match.
“That is something I will be working hard on in pre- season. We need the right personnel in the right areas to do that.
“I have never been accused of setting up boring teams.
“Not ever – until last year.
“All my teams have always played on the front foot and are trying to win the game.
“I have always set my teams up like that.
“But we got into situations last year where in some of the games we were hanging on.
“That was through, I think, a lack of conditioning at times because of the games we were playing.
“Teams have a different mentality when things just aren’t going well.
“I am sure on occasion my tactics were wrong.
“I am not going to be egotistic enough to think that every time I put out a team and I set it up that it’s going to be perfect.
“But having said that, some of the criticism we had last year, particularly myself, I felt was unfair.
“If I was that tactically naive, how did we finish fifth the year before? Sometimes it is about confidence in players.
Confidence can affect whether they make those forward runs and make something happen.
“That comes from results and belief.
“So sometimes when players aren’t at their attacking best it’s because they are lacking confidence.
“Maybe something is inhibiting them.
“You have to understand that sometimes that confidence can get lost.
“Sometimes it can be me or sometimes it can be the feeling within the player.
“It is difficult question to answer, but I hope that I have answered it the best way I can.”

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------

 SATURDAY JULY 13TH         SHIELDS GAZETTE

“I think we might need two strikers,” Pardew told the Gazette.

“I personally think, my competition in that area – Cisse, Shola, Gouff and Adam Campbell – last season wasn’t strong enough.

“In the Premier League, that’s not enough. I need more than that.”

 (ON DEFENSIVE TARGETS)

“I’ve got to be honest, I think we’re pretty strong there,” he said.

That stuff about Sissoko on 12th July is simply astonishing. He's basically left the responsibility of where Sissoko plays up to the player himself, and not only that, wherever he decides to play he has to sort out the cover.

I work with a manager just like that. A clueless fùcking imbecile who absolves himself of all responsibility, and takes all the credit when things go right and none of the flack when they don't. Sounds familiar?

Just what is he getting paid for now, because all he seems to do is give sound bites that cover up the reality of the situation. He shouldn't even be talking about Sissoko in those terms. It makes him sound like he has no idea how to resolve the situation.

Bloody hell, it gets even worse when you read the Shields Gazette quotes on the same day. We finished 5th in 2011/12, and now he suddenly has no idea whatsoever how our team should play. Somehow we've regressed so far in our development that 'we' have to go out and 'find' a way to play.

Good God man, THAT IS YOUR JOB!

Pardwho the Loser after another losing performance at Citeh last season.

"I felt in the first half that City had an assurance about them that comes from no pressure, I don’t think they are going to win the league after Manchester United won today and we didn’t help by not putting them under pressure. So when you have players like they have who are under no pressure then they are going to play well. That was our biggest problem"

No shit Sherlock !

"I was pleased, especially with the movement. They put us under a lot of pressure and we had to play very, very well to play under that pressure."
What pressure.
This after reports on the game against St Mirren said the home side struggled to get out of their half. Such bullshit from Pardew

"It wasn’t really the pace I would have wanted with a week to go before the season starts, but that’s the pace Portuguese teams play at"

So wtf have we played three of them in pre-season?
