Pm flashing some ITK muscle there! How reliable? Does all seem far more like Nufc than what we get in the papers, certainly the Carroll stuff makes sense

As far as im aware, the 25% sell on clause for AC only applies to transfers over £35 million, so we can forget about getting him in on the cheap or being the faves to sign him. The fact that he left here in the first place makes a move anywhere possible. Let West Ham have him. Do these clubs not learn?
QPR are already trying their best to do a Portsmouth by increasing their wage bill to unsustainable levels, West Ham will follow. Losing Premier League status will kill clubs like this.
We're better off out and happy with our wage cap*

Apparently there was rumours of them getting back together but he's not shy with the girls is wor Andy so looks to be on the rocks again. I'm sure the reported 5k a week maintenance will help her though ;)

Although saying that, she was a millionaire when he was still on a youth contract at us.

£17m would be a fair price for the lad, and ofcourse if he is so desperate to come back to the toon he will accept a substantial pay cut too

If "we" pay 15million for him, that would mean at least some of the 35million has been spent.

It's all rubbish anyway.

Apparently he's not good enough for us, and would not represent good business.

To be fair this isn't really news, it's been fairly obvious from the start of this episode that if he came anywhere it would be here. But I agree with the general concensus that there are better players we could buy for the amount liverpool are asking

I'm still wondering where all 'this money that west ham want to pay is gonna come from. No way can they actually afford 90K per week. Brassy is right that it's pointless to spend that much on him if he doesn't want to go there, they'd just have a mercenary on their hands

he was a very good player and bagged the goals... however we play a totally different style of football now. the squad was based around Carroll before he left, it wouldn't be this time around. i wouldn't gamble on signing him for 17million when there would be better options out there

According to Peter Harrison (the ex agent), Hippo heed has an addiction for brown envelopes and will be going all out for one last big 'pay day' before any court case arises in the future.

really top striker.great with the ball at his feet,a lot better than people think and has a hammer of a left foot as well as Been the best header of the ball I've seen since shearer.I was down Stoke in the delegation season when he scored the best header I've seen.easy worth 15-17m. but like laz said he had the chance to become a legend here and blew it so fuck him

I'm not sure I agree with this 'we play a totally different style of football now' argument. I must have missed the tiki taka last season, I do remember Man ure getting bombed from the skies though, which was entirely the right thing to do in that game.

aye there is times when we revert to the old hoof ball tactic, but towards the end of the season we were playing some good football on the deck (west brom away being an example), and Carroll wouldn't fit in to it in my opinion, and i certainly wouldn't gamble with signing him for 15million+

It sticks in the throat that he's only willing to return because he knows Rodgers doesnt see him as central to his plans.

Rodgers has inherited a right mess at LFC. Amerian owners can be very dodgy.

I think he could, he's not a complete doughnut on the deck. Not by any means. I think the only way this was gonna happen was on the original terms, years loan and a 12 million pound odd price. He'll have to sit and fester to at least January if he wants to come here, I think. By then, Liverpool might need the up front money to finance a splurge.

I agree with steekie he could easily play in a team who want to play good football on the ground.has good movement and one of the best touches I've seen for a big striker. he would be ideal in our side.
but I can't see us ever getting him back here, nor would he be welcome back after he walked out on "his boyhood club" to go to Liverpool. fuck him

He is a lazy fucker,I wasn't a big fan of his when he was here,he has no pace either,a mate of mine who was at Preston when Carroll failed there said he was utter shite and too full of himself. He's worth at best £7/8m.

IF he comes back and that's a massive IF (more likely considering he's been left out of the scouse Europa league squad) then each and every one of us will support him if he's giving 100%.

I really can't see 15 -17 mil its crazy money to spend on him.
We could land A good young striker, center back, and another good squad
player for that. Thats an estimate but it could be even more for the money
than that.

he is a good player, but there are better for less money

I'd like to see us spend about 6-7 million on a striker whose 20-23 with pace and who really wants to be here and prove himself. to act as back up to ba and cisse, who can come off the bench for the last 20 mins and scare teams. or to play in league cup or a few uefa games.we haven't had a player like that for a while.

It bemuses me as to why Rodgers doesn't want him, considering he played that lump up front last season for Swansea. Then to leave him out of the Europa squad raises even more questions. Something has clearly gone on and it isn't just this infamous, world class football that Rodgers wants to play after Swansea did it once in a pre season friendly.

Im not even sure anymore if he's in or out of their Europa squad as some media outlets like Sky say he's out and others including the BBC say he's in.
Apparently he's free to play for other European teams anyway even if he appears in this round.

Whichever way you look at this, Rodgers has played his cards here like a prize tool. If he sells him he will get less money because he's been so public about his opinions, and if he goes anywhere and succeeds, Rodgers looks even more of a dick because he doesn't know a footballer when he sees one. If he stays and plays, Rodgers will look like he hasn't got the courage of his convictions and if he stays on the bench, he's just a rapidly depreciating asset.

Where's he going to play? We don't play with 2 up front that often, and Cisse is a much better player.

Exactly! This is why he joined Liverpool! He's as thick as fuck. The only team in the world to cause so many stadium disasters/crowd trouble yet cannot find the common link... As I say, thick as fuck.

He is powerful, excellent in the air and a good left peg but £15 to £17 milis a lot. Could buy a very decent striker and an excellent defender for that amount.
What would concern me is his off field antics (booze) and potential injuries.
Would get behind him if he came back but would not be unhappy if he did not arrive. There must be cheaper potential candidates just as good.

reports wet spam offer him £90k a week,..no way we can compete with that nor should we, like i said before if he reeeeaally is desperate to return to the toon he should be prepared to take a reduced wage (which he wont),..so its looking like he will go there, sam clearly has instructions to get him at any cost, so if he goes fuck him
