What's the final role call then, so I can put everyone into my Pardmeister 2000 tactic-ometer and decide the best formation?

tnmw
P_m
P_m's 3 ringers
Steeks
My 3 mates

I thought we had 9 outfield and p_m keeper. Am I missing someone or have we just got the two subs?

Are we having a meeting point inside the ground and a time?

Obviously we all know what each other look like but im thinking of those that may turn up to lend their support. How do they know who we are?

How long is each game? !0 minutes? at least 6 games? We should be fine with 9 players, shouldn't we? I'm sure I could stick that out. What about the bloke with the XXL shirt though? Have we got a Rugby player in to maim any fancy dans?

right.. after a chat with someone from work, he said he would cover my shift on saturday. if you lads want an extra body i can come through, but i would need to meet someone near the station as i haven't a clue where the place is.

i'm also carrying a knee injury and have been for a couple of months, so can't do an awful lot of running...

Best Player Creating in the CDM role. (Probably my mate Dan,he's a decent centre back but wasted playing that far back.)
Legs in Midfield to cover front to back.
Diamond formation should help us play little triangles, pass & move let the ball do the work.

Cam I can pick you up from the station. I'm picking Steeks up from there anyway. Unfortunately his train doesn't get in until 10am, so can you get one that would get you in 15 mins or so before that? (in case his is early).

pm me your moby number.

Striker needs mobility, a five yard hobble followed by a five minute recovery and tab just won't cut the mustard...

Interesting thoughts on formation lads.

Two at the back seems to be the consensus, with one up front who is excellent at holding the ball up and laying it off for two onrushing sharp shooting midfielders. One playmaker who stays in the middle and can drop back and push forward.

One at the back seems a bit light, unless they are Woodgate-esque they'll be under tremendous pressure from runners.

Let's have a run down of who has what skills, so we can see who can fit where. Also need to factor in that everybody needs a fair crack of the whip. I know we want to try and win our games, but everyone is turning out after all, so we should try and give everybody a shot in each game.

My mates...

Paul 1 'Durky' - My age, but slim, nippy and jinky, Works very hard. Good going forward and linking up from wings. Not a shooter

Paul 2 'Dunny' - A bit older and slower with a tummy that's difficult to get round. Solid in defence though and has a rasping shot.

Don - The grandaddy of the party in age. Matthaus Sammer reborn. Wiry midfield general, good at holding ball up and plays intelligently. Moves into space well.

Steeks - Intelligent mover, unselfish runner and like to keep the ball. Have been known to produce delicious through balls and curling shots bent round defenders and wrongfooting keepers. Quite fit but no pace

Tnmw - Beardsley type player but obviously with my 'problem', i'll be a Scholes type link up man. Can tackle and shoot with both feet. Can heed the ball canny as well

Cam -

P_M - Our Cat

P_M's mate Dan - Centre Mid by trade, skillful passer with a trick & pace. Good Long Shot. P lays Centre Back Sunday League.

P_M mate 2 - Dave the 'Saul' man. Pace to Burn & Good finisher. Normally plays on the wing. Can be ball greedy.

P_M mate 3 - The Corbetron. A Man Mountain. Can hold the ball up with back to goal. Dont expect him to keep it long or pass to a teamate accurately. Pretty good hatchet man.

Feel free to add your descriptions and we'll see what kind of squad we've got....

I am hoping this XXL shirt isn't like a tent. It's for my mate Paul who normally wears XL just because of his tummy. He's not a fat lad at all, but L would just be a bit tight for his gut. He can do some gentle maiming too!

This team could turn out to be slower than our relegation side of 2009. But at least we've got spirit and skill!

On the subject of who's playing, i want to personally single out Steeks again for his 600 mile round trip or thereabouts.

To travel them lengths on the basis of what we have on this forum just speaks volumes again for the respect we have and for BBM in particular.

A top top effort.

Well, he would have been up to his armpits in any ToTT football match, nevermind one for a good cause. He mooted the idea of a kickabout for us all. Taking part in one in his memory is worth a train ride.

What started out as me telling the kids about there being a bit of an event on as well, of which in turn made them want to go, wor lass obviously having to watch them and now her mother... The dreaded witch of the East is tagging along as well.. She has a thing for these 'fair' things.

As long as she keeps away from me, we'll be fine.

I can't remember how it got like this as id only been asleep. Devastated isn't the word.

I think i'll be ok as it started to subside not long after looking out me front bedroom window and seeing the usual granny walking to the shops.
