Random quote: Keggy Keegal on Pardew saying we 'rebooted' - yeah we rebooted then Carver pressed Ctrl, Alt, Delete brought the task manager up and we could see Colo was using too much ram , so we ended the process and erm we're unlucky not to get something

Aye, i saw the usual weather sites with their predictions but the met office had us down for a severe weather warning (North Tyneside) but now we haven't. It's still gonna be gusting winds to 70 mph. How that can't be a warning is beyond me. Apparently gonna be anything from 80 - 100 mph further up the road.

just a heads up regards 2 potentially damaging storms over the next 150hrs.
first one due here for tuesday and it does show some severe gusts.but the daddy of storms is looking likely for friday.
this one has the potential to eclipse thursdays system.as always the track and pressure gradiants need closely monitoring.

Areas affected in detail:
Whole of the UK

Severity level:

Weather type:
Severe Gales and Heavy Rain

Alert risk period:
12/12/11 12:00 until 16/12/11 23:59

Alert details:
A rather disturbed weather pattern will prevail this coming week (Monday 12th Dec - Friday 16th), with a series of rather active low pressure systems affecting the British Isles, bringing gales or severe gales at times, heavy rain at times, snow across northern hills and the risk of damaging storm force winds later this week.

Monday - Wednesday

Later on Monday and during Tuesday morning, a deepening depression will approach the northwest of the British Isles. The passage eastwards of a frontal system ahead of this low will bring gales or severe gales for a time across southern counties of England and Wales Monday evening into early Tuesday morning, with wind gusts of 50-60 mph possible before winds ease Tuesday morning. These strong winds will be accompanied by a spell of heavy rain, which may bring a risk of localised flooding.

As the deep low approaches the northwest on Tuesday, gales or severe gales will develop across Northern Ireland, northern England and western Scotland from the afternoon into early Wednesday, with wind gusts of 50-60 mph possible.

Colder air flitering in from the west on Tuesday will mean showers fall increasingly as snow over higher ground across northern Britain, with potential for some significant accumulations across Scottish mountains by Wednesday with drifting of snow in the strong winds.

Late Thursday - Friday morning

A very deep depression is forecast to move across northern Britain during the early hours of Friday morning, with winds expected to pick up across the west Thursday evening with gales or severe gales (gusts of 50-70mph) developing widely overnight into Friday morning, with a swathe of damaging storm force winds (with gusts of 70-90mph, maybe higher) possible across southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and north Wales. The strong winds will be accompanied by a spell of heavy rain followed by squally showers, falling as snow over Scottish mountains.

The track of the depression later this week is not set-in-stone yet, so there maybe some changes in detail for where the strongest winds will likely be, so Netweather will update this watch and issue an alert nearer the time.
