first signs of winter tonight, big storm around the 10th. jet stream plunges south opening the door to everything from the Arctic for us.

Id welcome that. Just sick of all this rain. cant even let the dogs in the garden properly as it's been under 3 - 6 inchs of water all week. Roll on Summer and not worrying about drying their paws when they've been out.

We're lucky where we are as we're up a bit of a hill but down the street the water generally settles when it's bad. All the way up Sandy Lane was full of massive puddles that crossed the full road as well, so if this keeps up there'll be hell on for the morning rush hour.

I dread to think what it's like on the coast road and the metro underpasses.

Been non-stop but passable with care.

The front garden is badly flooded now and apart from a road I passed on the way to the town earlier next to the town moor being virtually under 2 feet of water, everywhere else seems fine for now.

obviously there's massive puddles everywhere and if this keeps up the same as it has since this time last night then there'll be a day off work for people tomorrow.

All this water and there'll still be a hosepipe ban in around 6 months. Not to mention that there's oil pipelines all over the world but we can't somehow do something with the excess water to places that really need it.

Im fucked then. The car's been in the garage for the past two weeks and ive had 3 hire cars already. Got a loan of a Merc C class estate at the minute and the cabin practically skims the road. Snow would turn the thing into a sledge.

Dont like it one bit out there, just have a really bad feeling. We know there's a hurricane approaching Ireland and the UK but absolutely nowt is moving outside. It's far too calm with not a bird flying round.

It's like the perfect calm before the storm.
