North sea is unusually warm for the time of year Toon,that though aids convection during easterlies.bit like steam coming out of the kettle and hitting -8c air.
It's a defo for areas with altitude and away from the coastal edge,but it may well affect anyway 3 mile inland regardless of altitude.
The media will be all over it by Sunday.

We had snow before Bob, was mad for about 20 minutes with some of the roads dangerous to say the least.

The last time we had a really 'wild' night for a game up here was the one against Man Utd when we won 3-0.
