EMO gets splinters

Fabio Capello`s first match as England boss saw the Italian leave one of the nation`s favourite sons out of the starting line up. Despite the Zanies in the crowd calling for Mr Posh Spice, it was Michael Owen who remained on the bench throughout the ninety minutes.

Capello saw goals from former Mag Jermaine Jenas and Shaun Wright-Phillips in each half as they overcame the Swiss 2-1. No news yet on whether the legend that was Marc Hottiger was in the crowd.
