'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Carroll on ressies hattrick

Having notched a treble against Boro in midweek, Andy Carroll is hoping he can make an impression on KK following the end of his loan spell with Preston. The striker hopes to cash in on Mark Viduka`s injury woes and Oba Martins spell at the ACN to cement his own first team place. Carroll said:

'It's so important to get goals for any striker. With a new manager coming in, I want to impress. Goals can only help you do that. The manager wasn't there last night, but hopefully he will hear about it. Last year when I played against Middlesbrough I got a hat-trick in the same fixture and a few people said before the game I would do it again. Thankfully that happened. And coming in a derby game makes it even more special.'
