Kev on the captaincy

Having awarded Michael Owen the captaincy against Bolton, the England striker looks set to retain it, at least in the short-term. Explaining his reasons for doing so, KK said:

'I think we'll leave it with him at the moment, and if he comes to me and says he enjoys it, then we can look at it longer term. I looked at the players I had got and I honestly believed Michael was the most experienced, along with Shay. I told Shay I would like Michael to lead from the front and he said: 'Fine - I fully understand, I've got no problems with that.''

Yeh if it gets the best out of Owen and gets him scoring who cares if he gets the captaincy.
