'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ned on Kev

Legend and all round top bloke David Kelly has joined the long list of players warmly appreciating the return of Mr Keegan to NUFC. A fantastic servant and scorer of the most important goal in NUFC history, Wor Dave said:

"It is probably not as big a surprise as it would have been had Kevin not left things open the other day when he refused to rule himself out. But the good thing from Newcastle United`s fans` point of view is that the owner Mike Ashley has listened to the supporters. The vast majority of them wanted attacking football and the board have listened to that and produced.

And Kevin now comes back at a time when there is such a lot to play for. It has been an unhappy place on Tyneside and there has been a bit of a backlash since Sam Allardyce left. But you have to hope and pray that Kevin can turn it round now for the Geordie nation.

Kevin is a special character and for the Geordie nation they will feel he can produce anything. When he was in charge Newcastle were challenging all the time. I just hope that Kevin is a huge, huge success up at Newcastle. And I want to pass on my best wishes to him and the supporters up there - they deserve some success.

The good thing for Kevin now is that he has some good players at his disposal. I haven`t got a clue who he will bring on board to his coaching staff, I will sit on the fence for that! But I`m just happy for the Newcastle fans he is back at the club."
