Mort on the appointment

Having helped Mike Ashley entice the great one to SJP he was quick to speak on Sky Sports News about how he didn`t think it would be possible to tempt him out of retirement and into the very hot seat at NUFC. Mort said:

'We didn't think we'd be able to get Kevin back to the club but he's the right man and we're absolutely delighted.'

Do tou think he will be able to turn your season around in time? I reckon he can!

Always worries me when a manager goes back to a club for the second time, never seems to work out. Can KK turn it around?
will it ever happen
Well done on a brilliant appointment! If this doesn't liven up the Premier League, I don't know what will!!!

Great for the prem and Keegan is a nice guy with great charisma so it is a plus for football. But I still think it will all end in tears. Why are there so many threads and new articles when there only seems to be 3 Toon fans on this site??????????????????????????I though you supposed to be a big club or have P.C`s not reached Newcastle yet..LOL
cockeril
Amusing cockeril. Most of our lot seem to stick to Newcastle Online, TOTT or Skunkers.

This week could ruin Kevin Keegan. All of this hype, what if he doesn't get the job done. The premiership is a big place nowadays, and bigger still when spurs remember how to be a force. Everton, Villa, Portsmouth, Blackburn, Man City and West Ham all look like teams that could make Europe. It's a big ask...we'll see.

Your club is an absolute joke. Hounding out a decent manager because he couldn't turn a historically small, mid table club into instant world beaters. And now you're all just going to stick your fingers in your ears and pretend it's 1996 again. Maybe oasis will re release Don't Look Back in Anger again? Tony Blair can sweep back into Downing Street? We'll all don kangol bucket hats and pretend they're in fashion again? And how is your new messiah greeted? With a half empty ground for your most important game of the season. Best supporters in the world my arse. I look forward to watching you all moronically hound Keegan out after three games.
Little Dutch
I'm sure Keegan will do a good job... again - good luck!

Celtic fan here, Always liked KK I hope you's win a cup this year cause I think its too late to push for Europe in the league. But you never know, all the best anyway! "I will love it"

Little Dutch you're seriously bitter. Not a mackem are you?
BaldEagle
but how will he feel being second choice for the chairman/owner (although not the fans...i think)

Little Dutch has some good points but time will tell!

The thing is that Chairman never expected he could get Keegan back in the newcastle hotseat. And when Harry redknapp refused the job he knew he needed a top appointment and bust the bank to get Keegan. Personally i think he had inherated a good squad of players and with a few extra players in jan watch newcastle climb the table i dont think we will challenge this season or next for major honours but i do expect to see great football and if thats what KK brings his work is half done. Little Dutch you sound bitter and twisted that KK has returned at Newcastle yes we all know its a new era and the style of football has changed in the past 5 years never mind 10 and theres no chance of catching the top four without major investment but thats exactly what Newcastle have got a Billionaire owner and guess what he's got HIS man in Keegan.
