William Hill`s update on the market

William Hill`s have just released the following statement regarding the current race for the poisoned chalice, I mean managerial position at wor club:

"REDKNAPP STILL LEADS THE WAY TO NEWCASTLE

William Hill, who have taken bets of £1000, £900, £750 and dozens of other three figure bets up to £500, still make Harry Redknapp favourite at odds of 1/ 2 to succeed Sam Allardyce as the next permanent Newcatle manager.

Hill`s spokesman Graeme Sharp said:

'Harry has never been unaware of his market value and just being linked with this job will do his own profile no harm whatsoever, but whether he seriously wants to uproot from his spiritual home on the south coast remains open to speculation - but many of our clients seem convinced that he will do'

Mark Hughes has been backed dwon to 15/8 second favourite after a flurry of support, including one bet of £500; while Kevin Keegan's odds collapsed from 25/1 to 6/1 third favourite 'after one punter told us he had spotted the former boss in a pub with one of the club's officials' said Sharpe.

Hills then offer:

7/1 Martin Jol; 8/1 Alan Shearer ('absolutely friendless in the market'); 9/1 Terry Venables; 14/1 Jose Mourinho; 16/1 Steve McClaren; 20/1 David Moyes; Glenn Hoddle; Gerrard Houllier.25/1 Roy Keane.

HILLS OFFER 10/1 THAT THE NEW NEWCASTLE BOSS WILL QUIT THE CLUB IN 2008"

Love the snippet about Keegan.

Don't throw you money on Redknapp at the bookies.. He may be the favourite, you may offer him a shed load of cash.. but I'd be very surprised if he takes the Newcastle job... You'll be better off with mark Hughes anyway..
