'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Silvestre sticks the knife in

A few eyebrows were raised in the summer when Mikael Silvestre rejected Sam`s overtures on the basis of saying he couldn`t play in the same side Joey Barton, who battered his marra Ousmabe Dabo. Now, with Barton in nutter rehab down in Hampshire, the bloke seems somewhat vindicated. Silvestre said:

'When I said I wouldn't go to Newcastle because of him, I was surprised by the reaction of people. But for me, it is normal to say what I think. He should not have been allowed to stay in the game for what he did. It's hard to make a judgment of someone like Barton, but he needs treatment. Now I know I made a good choice by not going there.'

Fair play to the bloke - he called it before we did.

Agreed. Must be semi-psychic.
